Awesome. Just the views are to die for. The staff are friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. Oh - and they have a really decent range of wines too. 🙂 Definitely worth the time to come and see if any tickle your fancy. Even if they don't you will surely count the time as well spent. By the way, just so it's clear, I do find the wines worth the time. In particular the Shiraz and the Barbera are excellent and the Pinot Noir is typical of the Adelaide Hills - a good one.

Attended as part of the Trailhopper winery tour. Not a single wine didn't like as part of the tasting. Marie was fantastic at explaining the wines while also adding her bubble personality to our group. Highly recommend!

What an afternoon we had at Nepenthe! One of my favourite wineries in not just the Adelaide Hills, but overall. Nicole from Nepenthe treated us like VIPs, never rushing us, but also providing great detail and context on the wines.
The Blanc de Blanc was a stand out favourite!

Had the best time here and strongly recommend the experience. The property is fantastic and overlooks vineyard valleys and stunning eucalyptus trees. The wine is also top tier. We had the flights thanks to the incredible Natasha who guided us through a 2 white 2 red combo. She urged us to have the Blanc de Blanc which for a hot day is absolutely perfect. She also took care of us throughout the experience with other suggestions and assistance and was an exceptional host couldn’t be more grateful to her and her help. Would strongly reccomend this property to anyone.

Had a large group tasting held by David. Despite our loud and rowdy behaviour, David had the patience to educate the group on the amazing wines. What an experience and thank you David! Enjoys what he does and he’s great at it!

Sunny day disappointment! I was disappointed with my visit to Nepenthe Winery. The sparkling wine I was served was completely flat, and when I returned it, the bartender didn’t acknowledge the issue or offer an apology. The replacement pour wasn’t even full, which felt unacceptable given the price. The cheese and breadboard was dry and uninspired, with no butter or olive oil, average cheese, and a dip portion far too small for three people. Overall, the experience was poor value for money, and I won’t be returning.

CELLAR DOOR Very nicely furnished cellar door, with a formal tasting room, plus other casual and comfortable lounge & seating areas, all with lovely views of the Estate. “Ben” went through the Tasting with us, and presented a non-scientific, informative summary of what we were sampling. Excellent for laymen like ourselves. We were also able to buy one bottle of wine, which cancelled my wife’s tasting fee (I was the driver). That’s not common policy amongst wineries, but excellent value for the consumer. Thanks guys.

Visited Nepenthe Wines in Hahndorf on my birthday, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable experiences ever! The place is surrounded by stunning hills and vineyards — the kind of view that instantly puts you at peace.

We started with a wine tasting, and every pour had its own charm — smooth, fresh, and full of flavour. The staff were super friendly and took the time to explain each wine, making the whole experience even better.

We also ordered the bread and dip platter, which was simple yet delicious — fresh bread, creamy dips, and the perfect pairing with their wines. Sitting outdoors with a glass of wine, enjoying the view, and spotting a few kangaroos in the distance made it even more special.

As someone who enjoys photography, this place is a paradise — every corner has that natural, scenic charm that’s perfect for photos.

Overall, Nepenthe Wines is the perfect blend of great wine, good food, and breathtaking views — an amazing spot to celebrate special moments or just relax with friends. 🍇✨

My wife and I recently visited Nepenthe Cellar Door, and we had an amazing experience! The view was absolutely stunning, and the wines were fantastic. Ben, really made the visit special—he was friendly, knowledgeable, and had a great sense of humor. We even learned that the dishwashing machines are named Harry and Debbie, which gave us a good laugh! The whole atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We would definitely recommend Nepenthe to anyone looking for a great time with excellent wine and service!

A friendly welcome when we arrived and we were looked after by Lauren. She was knowledgeable of all the wines and guided us through a lovely tasting on the de k area. Beautiful setting and great wines.

Nepenthe was one of the highlights of our Adelaide Hills wine adventure! The setting is absolutely stunning – sweeping views, lush vines, and such a peaceful vibe that you instantly feel relaxed the moment you arrive.

We were genuinely impressed by the wines. The Blanc de Blancs was a standout for me – earthy, refined, and so easy to enjoy. Hubby also loved the Pinot Noir, which had great depth and character, and the Gewürztraminer, which was aromatic, fresh, and just a little bit different in the best way.

The staff were lovely – friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to guide us through the tastings without any rush. It felt personal and unpretentious, which we really appreciated.

Highly recommend making a stop here if you’re in the region. Gorgeous wine, even better views, and a truly memorable experience!

Stunning venue for some relaxing drinks. Plenty of space and tables to sit on the lawn and enjoy the views. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. It is $12 pp and they provide you with a free wine, which you can choose from a wide selection. Thoroughly enjoyed our time spent here and we would definitely visit again. The wine is gorgeous. Tasting with a view We had a really terrific tasting hosted by Jacqui who shared her great wine knowledge and some stories about the winery. We really enjoyed the beautiful setting and big glass windows. Could easily spend a long afternoon there.

The delightful Alice and Cooper both served us with their expertise in the industry delivered by an amazing platter served by Jacquie. Wonderful wines and cellar door. Was a very hot day and we had a lovely view indoors. The Cellar Door is impressive but welcoming. Ashley was excellent, she showed us some lovely wines and really treated us to a wonderful experience.

My husband, daughter, and I had a very enjoyable experience at Nepenthe today. It is apparently Greek for the 'antidote to sorrow', and it lived up to its name. Lovely Laura was there to greet us and very accommodating as we needed to adjust our booking slightly. Alice was our guide, and she was very informative but wore her knowledge lightly. We weren't bamboozled, but had a great insight into the background of the wines. All this, enjoyed with a stunning backdrop made for a wonderful stop on our tour.

Stunning venue! We had a outstanding wine tasting with Alice, who was very knowledgeable and provided a brilliant service. Absolutely loved it!

Nepenthe has a stunning view, but the wines and the service leave a bit to be desired. The waitress was polite, but she wasn't overly attentive and during our tasting last weekend she seemingly forgot about our table. We had to physically find a waiter to ask for our next sample between tastings. It was difficult to hear what the waitress was saying, and she didn't come across as passionate or excited about the wines at all. Ultimately we didn't really enjoy any of the wines we tasted besides one red.

There are much better wineries to visit in the region, including Shaw + Smith which is directly across the road.

Let me start by saying David was great and was very run off his feet. While we did not have a booking I feel 90+ mins for a tasting is a bit excessive.
The reason for really bad score is more for the response to me giving this feedback in person. I expressed my disappointment with the long duration to which the lady (only one with out a name tag) said they were two staff short and tables had bookings. No apology just an attitude and an excuse. When we walked in Natalie asked if they would accommodate walk ins to which the person with the poor attitude replied with sure. They did not set the expectation of being short staffed or to expect a delay for the tasting.
The lady also said at 4:50pm we had to finish our tasting and make a purchase as their liquor license only covers them till 5pm. At this time we were still waiting for our final glass for tasting as David was serving other tables. So we felt very rushed considering we were not late arrivals (arrived at 3:30pm).
If they are short staffed and cannot provide a quality service they should have turned us away.

Exquisite venue. Picture perfect day and perfect hospitality by all staff who were well presented. Wonderful to be greeted by the friendly staff member without being addressed as "guys" and treated with respect. Thoroughly enjoyed our wines particularly the sparkling with a beautiful platter to match. Will definitely visit again, thank you.

Newly renovated Nepenthe Wines is a winery that everyone needs to experience at least once in their lifetime!! Or twice... Or three times! Either way you will absolutely love it!
We did a tasting and had a platter to have with our tasting. Delicious!! The staff were so friendly and welcoming and one in particular gave us so much information about the history of the wine and the winery. It was just an incredible experience. Couldn't fault it.

Superb Service and Fantastic Wines I became a member on a recent visit last year and took an Austrian couple with us who had just come to Australia for an extended holiday. I love the wines and the service from the Cellar Door staff is superb. We were there well over closing time and able to amend the tasting offer to suit our friends who preferred whites. Superb prices but getting the 20% discount makes them a more viable option. The setting is lovely and can't wait for the restaurant to be completed.

Wine on the lawn Delicious wide range of wines but most of all incredible knowledge and service by Alice. We rode our bikes here and enjoyed a lovely wine tasting. You could spend most of a day here on the lawn enjoying the wines. It got suddenly very busy a little before 3pm and I’m glad we mostly missed the rush so Alice had time to discuss each wine with us. She was very accommodating to our tastes throughout the tasting. Thanks!
