The Margaret River tour for people who don’t do tours!
The day includes canoeing (you won’t get wet or dirty), wildflower and whale spotting while walking the Cape to Cape Track, luxury 4WD adventure and an exclusive behind-the-scenes winery lunch at Fraser Gallop Estate.
The #1 Margaret River tour on Tripadvisor for 10 years.
• Start the day with a canoe trip down a stunning section of the tranquil Margaret River. You won’t get wet, dirty or fall in (we promise!). It’s a peaceful beginning to our day of highlights.
• We then head to the beach to see how the winemakers relax – a coffee while we check the surf at one of the region’s top beach breaks.
• Our next stop is an ancient waterhole to spot freshwater Marron and wildlife and to taste local honey while we reflect on Aboriginal history dating back more than 30,000 years.
• Lunch at one the region’s most celebrated emerging superstar wineries –Fraser Gallop Estate – is our next highlight. We have exclusive access to the working winery and vineyard and savour some of the best wines in the region matched with local produce while seated among barrels of ageing wine.
• We finish our day with a 4WD adventure and walk on a spectacular section of the Cape to Cape Track – the Wilyabrup Cliffs. We have special government approval to use a 4WD track that offers stunning cliff top views. High above the Indian Ocean the epic scenery, fresh sea breezes and surrounding ancient soils provide a deeper understanding of the unique terroir of the Margaret River region.
Hosted by Western Australian Guide of the Year – Sean Blocksidge.
Sean is a local born and bred West Aussie who’s been consistently rated the #1 best small tour experience in Margaret River for ten consecutive years.
He’ll take you down the back tracks and trails that most visitors to the region will miss.
As Sean says “how can you visit Margaret River region and miss the actual Margaret River? That’s nuts. Or fail to experience the grandeur of the Cape Track.”
Plus taste the best wine in the region!
He shares local secrets and stories to more deeply connect you to Margaret River.
You’ll travel in his luxury Landrover Discovery 4WD with only a maximum of six people. This is personalised touring at it’s best. No minivans or buses.
This really is “the wine and adventure tour for people who don’t do tours!”.
G’day, my name is Sean and I’ll be your guide on the day.
I thought I’d take this opportunity to give you a few tips and suggestions about your upcoming trip to Margaret River.
Firstly, I know the one big question I always get asked is “what should I wear on tour?”
The answer is to dress casual/relaxed. I usually recommend bringing a jumper/sweater just in case it cools off during the day and definitely wearing comfortable walking shoes/joggers. I do have extra Goretex jackets for you if we need them but rest assured you won’t be getting wet or dirty. And I can also 100% guarantee you wont get wet during the canoeing experience. I use very stable canoes that I describe as ‘luxury canoeing’ ;) . Rest assured I’ve never had anyone fall in, and I wont be starting with you!
I also suggest not bringing large bags/backpacks, as their limited storage in the luxury 4WD, and we like to leave some space in the event of a sneaky case of wine is purchased.
All you need is you, a camera and a fun attitude. I have all the food /water (and wine) we need for the day. That being said lunch I do recommend having a good breakfast as we eat lunch about 1.30ish.
If you have concerns or questions regarding accessibility or mobility, just send me an email or call and we can have a chat to ensure your safety, comfort and good times as top priorities.

Sean is an amazing host, and engaging promoter of all that is great about Margaret River. Starting out with a brilliant canoe trip along the river (great fun), the day continued with a visit to Fraser Gallop Estate winery for lunch, wine tasting and a behind-the-scenes look at the operation of one of area’s best vineyards. The off-road trek to the coast near Wilyubrup provided brilliant views. One of the highlights of our visit to WA.
We then headed to the coast for the stunning view of the rugged coastline.
Probably the best one day experience of an area we have ever had.
I would highly recommend this tour

Sean was the perfect host and in control of events from start to finish. His vehicle was perfect and carried six guests + Sean with comfort. There was some trepidation in the group ahead of the kayaking, but we can reassure you that you would have too seriously do something wrong (like not listen to easy instructions) to end up wet.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this tour to anyone looking for a different perspective on Margaret River and the Cape region.
But she said, you're not just going to check out wine, you're going to go canoeing, have an amazing meal, go on a hike along the coastline, visit an historic Aboriginal campsite and learn some of the Indigenous history of the area. In addition she said, you'll also get to see a modern vineyard in operation at the time that they're actually harvesting grapes and you can sample de-alcoholized wine. So I thought to myself why not?
And for those of you who do drink, according to our group, the wine was nothing short of amazing and lots of different samples of some very special wine were enjoyed immensely.
Sean the owner / operator of this amazing company was absolutely the best! Incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, personable with lots of good stories and jokes made the day a totally special event. He also brought his camera along and took a lot of pictures which he sent to all his guests for free. Who does that? Sean does.
When you are touring West Australia, do this tour if you have an ounce of adventure in your soul and a love for unique travel experiences. You will not be sorry that you did and you will write the next review that is this glowing!
I was very nervous about the kayaking but it was sublime (tbh all I had to do was sit in the front of the canoe).
The winery visit was great, and we were made to feel very welcome, even at one of their busiest times of year.
What I loved most though was learning about the history and culture of the region, and going off road to visit places I wouldn’t have seen by myself.
Sean’s passion for the region was evident throughout the day, and he even gave us tips for other things to do for the rest of our trip.

The truth is, the entire day was a highlight. But if we had to choose, canoeing along the river and spotting one of our favourite animals — the musk duck — was pure magic. And the serene, breathtaking views of the cape were the perfect way to round out the experience.
This is a tour for all ages, and missing it would be a real shame for anyone lucky enough to visit this beautifully diverse part of the world.
Thank you, Sean, for creating such an incredible memory for my son and me.
Sean was knowledgeable and very informative, efficient & inspired confidence but most of all made the day good fun and a memorable experience.
Sean is extremely knowledgeable and welcomes questions. Highly recommend for all types of travelers who want to immerse themselves with travel rather than being transported from place to place.
After being recommended this tour by family, we are so happy we decided to do it.
It’s a small group of just six people plus Sean, and the day is perfectly paced with a great variety of activities. We started with a stunning, very easy going canoe trip down the Margaret River, then stopped for a quick coffee by the beach.
This was followed by local honey tasting and marron spotting in a nearby river.
Lunch was set amongst the wine barrels at Fraser Gallop Estate and featured delicious local produce, chocolate, and samples of fantastic wines.
We finished the day with a short 4WD trip to the Cape to Cape Trail where the views were absolutely stunning.
Overall, this tour was a highlight of our trip to Perth. Sean was a fantastic guide with a wealth of local knowledge and was more than happy to make suggestions for future plans.
If you’re wondering whether to book this tour, do it! You won’t regret it.

We found this trip when searching for the best way to explore the Margaret River area (to include wine obviously 😊) but wanted a better experience than we could achieve by just going to cellar doors ourselves.
First thing we loved on the day? There were only 6 of us, so this trip felt so much more personal than a bus ‘booze cruise’ event. Sean welcomed us all and we set off for the day after introductions.
The first event was canoeing on the Margaret River. This was truly wonderful as the river was serene, we were away from all noise apart from nature, and my friend (who had never been in a canoe before, and had been a little trepidatious prior to the day) agreed this was a highlight not to be missed. All safety equipment provided, and clear instructions given to all. Considering most of us had not canoed before, everyone did really well and had fun.
Next we had a coffee stop (and comfort break) by a stunning beach whist we all enthused about the scenery (and still taking about our newfound love of canoeing).
Now the wine…. We were taken to an award winning vineyard heading north of Margaret River where we were treated like VIPs! Stunning lunch with a wonderful variety of local produce, accompanied by a selection of the wines. We were able to try rose, whites, and reds, and I was stunned by the Chardonnay (normally not one of my ‘go to’ wines! Highly recommended. We met key members of staff and had amazing photo opportunities in the vineyards.
Final main activity was a guided walk along part of the Caves Walk coastal path. Again, we were taken to areas not normally accessible to the public and got truly remarkable photos.
In summary, this trip made our visit to the area one to remember. Sean is a considerate and (very) well informed host, with a passionate interest and knowledge of wines, nature, customs, and was happy to answer our multiple questions throughout the day.

The weather had been turbulent with storms the night before but our Guide Sean was equipped with everything required to dodge the rain.
Our canoe experience on the Margaret River was just one highlight of the day. The water was so tranquil & the peace of the river was meditative.
The winery was exceptional & we went away with some amazing wine at a fabulous price.
Our lunch allowed us to sample a variety of local produce. It was absolutely delicious.
The Cape walk rounded the day off with breathtaking views of the ocean & coastline.
We would thoroughly recommend this tour with the most knowledgeable and entertaining guide.
Canoeing on the river was great fun and under Sean’s patient tutelage it wasn’t long before we got the hang of it and loved the whole experience. We were also lucky enough to see rare black cockatoos.
It was a privilege to meet Sean and spend the day experiencing this beautiful part of Western Australia
We started with a magical canoe on the Margaret River in a light shower ( but the speed we went, and with a brolly if it was too wet, meant the rain did not matter). Coffee stop, seeing a lovely waterfall, tasting local honey. The vine yard lunch in the barrel room and tasting 7 pretty premium wines was excellent. We finished with a walk to the coastal path, great views, lovely photos and he even managed to get a few whales to perform in the bay for us! A fabulous and knowledgeable host who made sure we had a great experience and he was not bothered by how long it took. It was all about having a great trip - Sean even took some lovely photos, which he sent, along with recommendations for things to do the following day. Thanks also to the other 4 people who made it an enjoyable day.
Wonderful experience
Shaun has a great source of knowledge and insight in the region
Fun and entertaining
Our journey to lunch and wine tasting at a fabulous highly acclaimed winery was accompanied by Sean’s entertaining stories and knowledge of the area.
Lunch and wine tasting were unhurried and of a high standard with great food and a large selection of very good wine. The day was not finished here as we were taken to a little known lookout overlooking the crashing waves of the Indian Ocean to look for whales and dolphins.
The tour provided wonderful memories and felt like a whole holiday in one day. A must do for any visit to Margaret River.

The day began with a beautiful and easy canoe on the Margaret River. Even having lived in the area, I had never done anything like this—it was absolutely magical. From there, we visited a private winery and enjoyed a delicious lunch in the cellar, followed by a short hike that led us to the dramatic Wilyabrup cliffs. The views were breathtaking, with endless ocean vistas and even whales in the distance.
Sean’s knowledge of the region—its history, plants, wines, and people—made the day engaging, insightful, and fun. It was the perfect combination of adventure, relaxation, and discovery.
I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting (or even locals looking to see the region in a new way). A truly unforgettable experience!
