Our Bruny Island Food, Sightseeing and Lighthouse Day Tour is designed as a combination of local tastings and sightseeing, rather than a full day food tour. We do try to make this as clear as possible in our tour descriptions and inclusions; however, we will be reviewing our tour descriptions online to ensure they clearly represent what guests will receive on the day. We have our morning tea beachside at Two Tree Point, which is a historically significant area of Bruny Island where guests can see trees that were painted by a Lieutenant in the late 1700s still standing. We understand stepping over wallaby poo may be less than ideal to some guests, but unfortunately, we can’t control the wildlife! Our guides do their best to choose the cleanest and most comfortable spots available on the day. We do advertise that lunch will be at Hotel Bruny. We have a great long-standing relationship with Hotel Bruny, who have been providing tasty local lunches to our guests for many years. We appreciate that the cost felt high to you. Our pricing reflects the inclusions, National Parks entry fees and access, guided Lighthouse Tour, local produce tastings, morning tea, lunch and the full day guided experience with transport and a local passionate tour guide. However, we do apologise that it didn’t feel like good value on this occasion. We’re disappointed that the overall balance of the tour wasn’t what you were looking for, and we appreciate you sharing your thoughts, as it helps us continue to improve. Our Bruny Island Tour is advertised as a Food, Sightseeing and Lighthouse Day Tour, not as a gourmet, educational, or production-focused experience. It is designed to offer a varied introduction to Bruny Island, combining scenery, local produce and exclusive access to Cape Bruny Lighthouse, a well-rounded experience of our beautiful island. The breakfast you mention is our beachside Morning Tea, which is usually a highlight for our guests. The morning tea features Bruny Island oysters, 3 types of award-winning Bruny Island Cheeses, freshly baked bread with tea/coffee. Bruny Island is a large, rugged island and travel between sites, including Cape Bruny Lighthouse, is unavoidable. We deliberately break drives into shorter segments wherever possible. The longest drive is down to South Bruny National Park to Cape Bruny Lighthouse, which we understand can be taxing on some guests. However, as the only operator with guaranteed access to guided Cape Bruny Lighthouse Tours, we think the drive is worth the fascinating maritime history and incredible views from the Lighthouse balcony. Regarding the chocolate stop, we do not advertise or include that this is a Chocolate Factory, as it is their shop front where our guides prepare the chocolate and fudge tastings out on the private balcony with the stunning bush as our background. Our tour guides should be going through each tasting with guests. I want to assure you that this has been addressed in a company-wide email regarding the importance of sharing this information with guests. We also don’t advertise that we include a tasting at Bruny Island Cheese & Beer; this is a stop at the end of the day for guests who wish to purchase cheese or beer. We have spoken to our tour guides, and no concerns were brought to their attention on the day. We have a policy in place where our guides will contact management if there are guests with concerns/issues on tour. We are very proud of our consistent 4.9-star rating online, and we would have loved the opportunity to improve your experience with us on the day. We gather the oysters and cheese for your morning tea on the beach. Our goal is to provide a comprehensive and enriching experience, including the Cape Bruny Lighthouse Tour (Guaranteed access and not offered by other tour operators) and entry to the National Park. We ensure that all produce is purchased and supplied by us, allowing for a seamless and enjoyable journey and product control. The only venues where guests can make additional purchases are the Honey and Chocolate producers, and visits to the Cheese and Oysters venues can be arranged upon request if time permits in the afternoon. We've structured our tours to maximize the sights and experiences on Bruny Island while minimising shopping time, giving you the chance to truly immerse yourself in the island's beauty and charm.
