Sunning South West at its best Wow, what a special place and what a phenomenal tour. Very impressed with the pilots sharing their knowledge on the flights of the landscape and history. The boat tour of Bathurst harbour and out to Port Davey was unforgettable - Mirror views, sea caves, mountains. Great lunch and felt very relaxed. Return flight allowed us to see where we had been and the view of the Breaksea Islands back up to Bathurst Harbour were amazing. Great day with the best weather. So lucky.

Stunning South West A brilliant, stand out experience. Our pilot Jason and guide David were absolutely fantastic. Both very knowledgable which made the whole day so interesting.
Flying along the coast to the landing strip at Melaleuca was very cool. Spending the day in Bathurst Harbour was an unforgettable experience. Calm conditions meant we got right out to the stunning Breaksea Islands. Gourmet lunch then boat ride back followed by the flight back to Hobart across the Western Arthur range. Do it!

Great way to see Wineglass Bay What a day! Par Avion Wilderness Tours took us up in an 8 passenger bush airplane for a 40 minute flight from Hobart to Friendly Beaches. Our pilot, Patrick, was fantastic and knowledgeable about the history and geography of the area. We then went on a 5 hour boat cruise around the Freycinet peninsula before getting back aboard the pane for an hour flight around the Tasman peninsula back to Hobart. An awesome day.

Bucket list We did the 3 capes scenic flight with wineglass bay boat cruise.The weather was perfect the flight to Coles bay was beautiful great informative pilot comfy plane great day on the cruise no wind no swell saw heaps of dolphins birds caves cliffs ploughman's lunch cold beers then the most incredible flight home along the 3 capes bruny island Maria island Tasman island so much to seee highly recommend

Day trip to Melaleuca The weather predicted for the day I had booked my one day wilderness experience tour with Par Avion to Southwest was terrible, ("small hail", etc!) but Par Avion were ahead of the game and managed in short notice to find a perfect day for my trip. Fabulous flight and enjoyable boat trip with great lunch provided.

10/10 service by this company. Paige at reception provided the most lovely customer service. If you get Mike, the multi-skilled pilot, boat driver & guide, you won’t be disappointed. He made our day extremely enjoyable & his kind, calm presence put us at ease with flying. The lunch provided was wonderful (loved the local wine) & they were able to cater to dietary requirements. Best way to see Tassie's remote southwest We absolutely loved this experience. The guides were incredibly knowledgeable with great senses of humour. Our activities seamlessly catered for the group's different interests and worked beautifully with the weather to ensure we enjoyed the best of the area. The scenery was stunning - we have such amazing photos. The flights in and out were really bonus scenic flights. Food and accommodation were excellent.

Amazing scenery, history and information We were lucky enough to enjoy excellent south west weather for our day. Our Pilot Patrick flew us down the coast with spectacular scenery, around south east Tasmania to land smoothly at Melaluca. He shared a very informative commentary enroute. Patrick also took us on our boat ride out into Bathurst Harbour, once again with great information, both geographically and historical. There was another group with us who flew with Michael, who also enjoyed the same great service. We were never rushed, and allowed plenty of time to explore the area. We were also lucky enough to spy some of the famous orange bellied Parrots. The food and drinks were delicious, and very welcome. Our flight back was also spectacular flying over the Western and Eastern Arthur’s ranges and other ranges and country towns on the way back to Hobart. What a special day.

We have just spent the last 4 days in a most remarkable place. We flew with @paraviontas into the Southwest NP. We spent 3 nights in thier wilderness camp, we were shown so much of this unique and beautiful area by boat and did some hikes. Greg and Peter our guides, could not have done more for us. The accommodation, food, drinks and company was amazing!! I would recommend this trip to anyonewho wants to see an amazing beautiful part of Tassie !!!!!

We recently took Par Avion's Southwest Wilderness day tour. For this, you are flown to Melaleuca (usually flying along the South East coast on the way down, then more directly inland on the way back), then taken on the water to explore some of Bathhurst Harbour, with time to explore a little of Melaleuca as well.

It was a wonderful day. We were lucky to have superb weather (so the water was relatively calm and we could get to the mouth of the harbour). The pilots and guides were terrific - friendly and informative. It was a superb way to explore a little of remote Tasmania, which was spectacular - on ground, water and in the air.

Fantastic complete experience The experience lived up to everything we had hoped and more. Shannon was friendly and knowledgeable. Lunch was more than we had expected and we even got a glass of wine! We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this tour.

The South West Wilderness tour is amazing! Such a unique and remote landscape, otherwise inaccessible.

Everything about the tour was highly professional and engaging. The vegetarians meals were exquisite.

An unforgettable experience! I have done Arctic survival training, spent 2 winters in northern Norway, much time in the rugged northern Flinders Ranges and hiked up and around Cradle Mountain many times but I was blown away by the unforgettable experience I shared with my wife on our 25th visit to beautiful Tassie, which coincided with our 25th wedding anniversary!

We were truly blessed with PERFECT weather. Clear weather and almost no wind even at Break Sea islands!

We flew in the Cessna 206, flown capably (I'm a retired military pilot) by Caleb who was accompanied by the amazing Greg! Gavin piloted the accompanying Islander and drove the boat. The historical, natural history lessons and engaging but true (mostly!) stories came think and fast. We lapped it all up and yet hungered for more! We will never forget Greg's King's piano saga song story. Well, as I videod it, we won't! 😊

Gavin was a skilled boat skipper and his dry humour was a highlight. It was obvious he was very familiar with the waterways and open waters. How can we ever forget sitting only a handful of meters from towering cliffs, with amazing quartzite caves, in very unusually flat waters at Break Sea Island? The OOH's and AHH's from the passengers AND crew were continual. WOW!!!

The beach morning tea then the beach lunch later on, at Bayswater Beach, were very much appreciated. Of course a glass of wine whilst surveying the amazing surrounding wilderness, did help!

To have trodden and seen the unforgiving wilderness that the legendary Deny King and his family called home, was an honour for us, and pretty humbling. It really was!

After several hours in the boat, we did a walk to learn of the original inhabitants, the Needwannee peoples. Sadly, this mob only survived for a few decades after their first contact with Europeans!

After we took off from the isolated Melaleuca airfield, Caleb took us back overland to Hobart. We were so, so lucky to be able to see Federation Peak up very close and very clearly! The ruggedness of the peaks in these ranges is spectacular and a little awesome inspiring to be honest, when you think of the pioneers who first 'conquered' them. 😳

The views of The Huon Valley, Mt. Wellington and Hobart city were wonderful as we approached Cambridge airfield. As were the views of the coast, Bruny Island and South West Cape on the way out.

Will I be back? You bet I will. 3 days at the Par Avion remote bush camp looks like just the thing for me after I find that damned hip flask!!!

Visit to Southwest National Park, Tasmania! The booking experience was excellent thanks to Andrea and Paige. They were both friendly and informative. On arrival this morning at Par Avion we were warmly welcomed by Paige. And prepared for departure.

Our Guide Peter Mirmion was excellent; very hospitable, friendly and knowledgeable. His experience and company made the trip very enjoyable.

Our journey by air was with pilot Caleb Lownds, who piloted his Cessna 206 skill fully to the site in Southwest National Park and back. His running commentary was informative and pleasant. There were a few bumps on the way during the flight but not too uncomfortable.

The cold meal and whine was excellent with thought to individual preferences.

The national park itself was in the most remote location, completely uninhabited, with the cleanest air & had the purest water. We spotted a rare bird, the Orange Belly Parrot. Other than that, there were few other birds but no animals. So those who seek wildlife, may be disappointed. The visit was essentially to visit a remote virgin national park.

Fantastic Wilderness Experience Really enjoyed this amazing tour! The Par Avion staff were great to deal with — very friendly, professional, and kept us well informed, especially given the bad weather in the lead-up. The flight itself was absolutely spectacular, and our guide was both lovely and knowledgeable. A real highlight was getting to see the very rare Orange-Bellied Parrot! It was a fantastic full-day wilderness experience with a delicious lunch, breathtaking scenery, and an exciting adventure to a remote, beautiful part of Tasmania’s wilderness. Highly recommend!

Superb scenic flight sand experience on-ground. The one day scenic flight to southwest wilderness from Hobart in September ‘25 was a superb experience. Our group of three, was so well looked after and kept informed by pilot Caleb and guide Peter. Learnt and saw so much in just a few hours. The booking experience was handled beautifully. Highly recommended.

The South West! Just Go! Dont hesitate!! The trip to the South West was an absolute highlight experience! Our pilot (Theo) was incredibly knowledgeable and engaging and ensured our comfort was where it needed to be! The isolation, the scenery and the history was something special! A bucket list event and would have no hesitation in touring with them again!!

Disgusted I was given a flight for 2 for my Birthday I thought this will be great ,but when I saw the size of the plains I couldn't do the flight as i have serious claustrophobia from an incident with the military , so we had to put it off its been quite a while now and they wouldn't give us our money back ,i thought that was rather selfish and slack of them so will never recommend Par Avion to anyone I know, just disgusting of them to treat a vet with this kind of problem . "I put jully 24 because their site comments won't let you comment unless you put a date ".

Do yourself a favour! This is the best trip I've ever done! The service received from Paige in the office to Theo ( pilot, skipper, tour guide ) was exceptional. The flight was amazing, the views outstanding. The boat trip around Bathurst Harbour as fantastic. Plenty of time to stretch your legs and walk around. Beautiful lunch with wine in a gorgeous setting. Flying back through the mountains for a different perspective. You can tell Theo loves his job, informative, interesting, professional, good humoured. I joked he would lose a star for forgetting the silver platter for our cheese & crackers but he was already getting 10 out of 5 so it didn't really matter. This truly was a fantastic trip, well worth the money.

Southwest Wlderness ,an experience that you cant put into words or in pics. Absolutely worth the wait, although we had multiple weather cancellations , the Wilderness is an experience you cant justify with words or pictures, our excellent friendly pilot /guide "Theo" was so knowledgeable with locations / history , it felt like he has lived there all of his life. Yummy Lunch and Morning tea was wonderful , cant wait to do the East coast.

Spectacular Southwest Tassie We did this trip on 12th April. We have wanted to do this for a long time. We are both older and were unsure how we would go with the walking but we were always given time and assistance from our guide. He made our day one to remember. The commentary he provided was so informative. The day was just perfect. We loved every aspect of the day. The scenery was amazing and the serenity of this place is hard to explain. We would recommend this trip to anyone who loves the unique nature of the Tasmanian wilderness. Thank you so much for a wonderful day! We will never forget it.

Extremely Disappointed – Poor Communication and Unreliable Service I rarely write negative reviews, but my experience with Par Avion was incredibly frustrating and disappointing. Their communication is absolutely terrible. Most of the time, emails and texts go completely unanswered. I had to send multiple follow-ups just to get a reply, and even then, it would take them days to respond – if they responded at all.

I booked a fly and cruise day tour and provided EIGHT different available dates well in advance. Despite that, they were still unable to fulfill the booking. No proper updates, no clear explanation – just silence. Dealing with them felt like talking to thin air.

For a company in the travel industry, basic responsiveness and clarity should be a given. Unfortunately, this company fails on both fronts. I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere if you value your time and peace of mind.

We had a fantastic experience with Par Avion. The staff were friendly and helpful from booking to flying. Putting safety first, our south west wilderness flight had to be cancelled due to weather so we opted for the east coast flight and it didn’t disappoint. Amazing views of Freycinet Peninsula and Maria Island. Our pilot was professional, friendly and very knowledgeable. The lunch on Maria Island was so delicious. Highly recommend flying with Par Avion. we will be back one day to fly south!!

Just back from an absolutely amazing trip with Par Avion to Mariah Island.
The whole experience could not have been better and the pilots Patrick and Boy were so friendly and knowledgeable and just made the whole experience one that i will never forget. Thank you guys so much. The views we got especially around the Freycinet peninsula were stunning. After landing on Mariah Island, it was great to see the local wildlife which included Wombat, Wallabies, Sea Eagle. The highlight was spotting a Humpback Whale and her calf from the air and watching them breaching on numerous occasions. It was spectacular.
Also my fellow passengers, James and Eileen were great company and thank you to you both for just adding to what was an absolutely wonderful day.

Awesome experience not to be missed From booking the ticket through to saying farewell. The ground and air crew were engaging and helpful. The provision of a heated jacket was ideal for the boat ride. The entire day went like clock work, and there was no rushing.

There really are wombats and kangaroos everywhere We had a lovely flight, where the pilot described what we were seeing, then landed on Maria Island for a good portion of time.

We are visiting from the USA and had limited time, so this was a great way for us to see some things we wouldn’t have had time for otherwise.

The picnic lunch was great and they even accommodated our request for something besides seafood.

One of the great Australian experiences! We were fortunate to have only my wife and I on this tour accompanied by our 2 expert pilots, Caleb and Zeydan. Everything went smoothly from the team that checks you in through to the pre flight safety briefing and getting underway. Once we had taken off the experience just got better and I am so grateful we decided to spoil ourselves with what has to be one of the great Tasmanian travel experiences.

A fantastic day out What a fantastic tour and such a privilege to be able to fly into one of the most remote parts of SW Tasmania. Our group travelled in the 10 and 6 seater planes. I got the back seat of the 6 seater which was brilliant in terms of the views. Our pilots were fantastic with great commentary and talked us through when to expect turbulence, particularly on the way home as we experienced some pretty strong winds and bumps flying over the mountains. The boat tour with Meg was fantastic and her knowledge of the area made the trip even more special. I would highly recommend this tour. If you are prone to a bit of motion sickness on planes, come prepared as it can be quite bumpy around this part of Tasmania. I don’t get air sick but my sneaky glass of red wine at lunchtime had other ideas on the return trip! However, it was worth it for the spectacular views.

Wilderness experience with luxury and heart Everything was simply marvelous. The flights were spectacular, the scenery amazing, the guides fun, attentive, informative and lovely and the program tailored to suit our group excellently. The accommodation was extremely comfortable and the food and drinks excellent. We have specific dietary requirements and these were accommodated without any fuss and without making us feel like we were being difficult. We were provided with excellent options at every meal including snacks while we were out seeing the sights. At the camp, everything was thought through down to the smallest detail - lanterns and headlamps provided in our hut/tent, the bed was lovely and comfortable. The camp has been cleverly designed to be low impact and was nestled into the forest to give you the feeling of truly being in the wilderness. Birds flying around immediately outside your tent!
Quite a bit of our time during the day was spent in the boat travelling to beautiful, secluded beaches on Bathurst Harbour, visiting indigenous sites and historical sites, going on short to medium-length hikes. Having two guides at all times, the group could break into those keener on slightly more strenuous hikes and those more content to potter
We were also lucky enough to have great wildlife experiences including seeing dozens of the endangered Orange-Bellied Parrot, as well as potoroos, wedge-tailed eagles and a white-bellied sea eagle nest complete with fledglings.
The guides themselves were amazing, very, very knowledgeable and fonts of stories of all kinds, covering the geology, history and ecology of this amazing, wonderful region.
The boat trip out to Port Davey proper was a true highlight with dozens of islands, beaches, cliffs, blowholes and arches, all in a simply spectacular coastline. All done in comfort and safety with an engaging commentary and the guides being flexible and responsive to our individual requests.
We highly recommend this trip of a lifetime.

I flew a plane! I couldn’t believe it. It totally blew my mind that I was in control of an aircraft. Best experience ever. It was also cool to hear the control tower of Hobart Airport. This was my first ever time doing this and I would definitely do it again if I can. The instructor was great explaining everything I need and answering any questions I had. It really is the best views of the area.

Couldn't recommend the Southwest wilderness adventure flight and cruise more highly. The guides are very knowledgeable and provide a great commentary of the area and it's history. They are very hospitable and attentive to their guests and the food and wine is delicious. Would definitely encourage anyone to do it at least once in their life.

SOUTH WEST TASMANIA AT ITS BEST! Fantastic experience of Tasmanian coastline with commentary to match both on plane, land and boat. Weather was perfect and water was mainly calm. Morning tea and lunch was great and well presented. Ample time to enjoy. Weather enabled us to take plenty of pictures. We were a group of 10 and we flew on the 4 seater which quite comfortable and enabled us to enjoy the view.
Would definitely recommend this trip.

A tour to remember What an amazing experience! The flight around the coast was breathtaking and the boat trip was fascinating. The guides were friendly and knowledgeable (with a host of tall tales!), the food and drink were excellent, and the places we stopped were truly beautiful (Balmoral beach, where we had lunch, will remain in my memory for a very long time). And we had the best weather!
I would certainly recommend this tour to anyone lucky enough to come to Tasmania.

Ellie did a terrific job driving the boat gave a wonderful commentary with a sprinkling of local knowledge and stories. Lunch at Bramble Cove was delicious with a choice of red or white wine, fruit juice, tea or coffee. We had a wonderful day in a very special part of Tasmania it actually felt a bit spiritual to me. We would not hesitate to recommend this experience to anyone, the weather that we experienced was also exceptional on the day, we were told that this is not always the case so come prepared.

Day tour to the remote SW of Tasmania My wife, son and myself recently took the one day tour through Par Avion to the remote South West corner of Tasmania. This is an exciting, informative and enjoyable trip which we thoroughly recommend. The Par Avion team at the airport, the pilots and Greg who was our tour leader are all very enthusiastic and passionate about this part of the world and it is a privilege to be taken somewhere so utterly remote and untouched. Incredibly there are some hardy folk who over the decades have actually lived, worked and brought up their family here and it was wonderful to hear about their stories and to see where they lived and worked. We flew by plane to the Bathurst harbour area, did some easy walking and then transferred to a boat tour before returning in the late afternoon. Thank you again and keep the stories alive

A very special trip An experience of awe. The plane trip over was breathtaking, even though there was cloud cover. The cruise was stunning. The staff were really friendly, the lunch was delicious and the scenery was gorgeous. As it was a lovely day we’re got to go out to sea. The tour of Sarah Island was a highlight. Our guide was funny and yet conveyed the cruelty the convicts endured. I had wanted to do the trip for many years. It lived up to all my expectations.
