Incredible! The gardens are stunning with a wide range of cacti to admire. Very inspiring! The artwork throughout is beautiful too, took so many pictures for inspiration for home!

Still giving five stars but would love them to have more cactus food products in the store to take home, and books. I would have spent a ton if they did, but got some cactus honey. The menu in the restaurant was great with many dishes incorporating cacti. Definitely worth a stop and another trip to the plant store in the future!

I’ve enjoyed this visit, well worth the drive from Melbourne. The cafe serves Mexican food and drinks. There is also a nursery where you can purchase cacti and succulent. Service is friendly and prompt.

Interesting but way overpriced for what it is. The award winning Bullanginya Dreaming was $30 cheaper for a family of four and heaps better.
The walk through the different paths would have been better if they set up shady drinking stations along the way. The discomfort from the heat overpowered the focus and interest in the cacti. I wouldn't do it again. I would recommend it for the novelty but not for the price. I seriously was shocked when I found out it was $25 per person. ($12-15 would have been way more reasonable). Cheaper for children 15yrs and under.

On November 1st 2025 my now husband and I said "I do". Cactus country will always hold a special place in my heart. For those who are interested in weddings/ elopements or just wanting to get married somewhere unique and different this is the place to do it. From the initial consultation with Julie (owner) to the final result, I couldn't have asked for a better team. Sophie my amazing coordinator, my gosh was she a firecracker! Nothing was too hard of an ask, and she did everything with ease and no complaints. I had roughly 45-50 guests and everything went so perfect. I cannot recommend this place even if it's just for a short visit, it's nothing less of magical. Thank you for allowing my wedding day to be effortless, beautiful and amazing. Words truly can't describe how much I appreciate all involved in making this such a wonderful day.

Delightful day out AMAZING collection of cactus' in a mexican themed park. Just stunning to walk around and I love that it is dog friendly! I had the cactus ice cream which was delicious and bought myself a wee collection of cactus' to take home. Staff were also delightfully friendly. Well worth the drive from Melbourne!

Entry $25 seems pricey for what you get. Its a large plot of land filled with cacti and the odd tacky decoration.
I thought I could maybe get some good aerial shots but staff will chase you down if you try fly a drone without a booking

We have attended the Day Of The Dead celebration the last 3 years and love it. Unfortunately this year the weather wasn't the best to stroll through the gardens, which is worthwhile seeing the variety of cactii however, we still thoroughly enjoyed the evening. The food was great, the face painters did an awesome job. The band had everyone up dancing. The fire dancer was amazing. A brilliant night, we'll be back in 2026. Amazing place with great variety of Cacti/Agave and more. Can't wait to come back and see the newer areas filled in.

Only downside was minimal benches/chairs to sit at while walking around, making it hard for those needing to rest more often as it is quite a distance!

Thanks, Cactus Country for helping me celebrate my birthday! I booked for 15 people and they gave us the entire event room for the entire day. It was perfect to be able to leave our things while we went for a walk. I ordered platters for 15 people and they provided more than enough. It was delicious and served promptly! Can't recommend attending in the Spring enough!!

Best family plan for nature lovers Huge garden with thousands of species, well kept, great facilities and food offering. You can come as many times as you want and it will be equally amazing. My family with elderly and young kids enjoyed it so much.

Wonderful Experience We visited Cactus Country during the Easter holiday, and it was such a unique, enjoyable, and wonderful experience. Beyond the stunning cactus gardens, our small kids loved the pony rides, patting the animals, and so many other fun activities.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the place was clean and well organised.

The only downside was the number of flies, but honestly, that’s just part of being in the great outdoors—something we needed to accept.

After having such a great time here and also at The Paddock at Ulupna, we’ll definitely be back again someday!

We enjoyed our visit here. The restaurant makes it awesome, the food was so good. Pulled pork nachos, cactus cake and cactus ice cream. The gardens are also nice to wonder around, very dry since its like a dessert vibe :)
We stayed in the area and made a weekend of it, it's too far and not worth a day trip only from Melbourne. Highly recommend staying over to make it worth the far drive.

So let's face it, cactus park can sound kind of lame, right? Well rest assured, this is not lame. It's by all metrics a very impressive collection and a great place to explore. The staff is friendly and attentive.

The on-site cafe serves decent, though relatively expensive, food; the cactus cake and ice cream is an acquired taste that I hadn't acquired, but was interesting to try.

Great find on the edge of Strathmerton Never knew how many cactus and succulents existed. We were searching for things to do whilst staying in Echuca and hubby came across this. So glad he did. It was amazing. We spent a few hours there as it is quite a large site to cover. Very well laid out and signposted. We’ve never been to Mexico, but it certainly felt as if we were there. They also have a cafe which serves Mexican food. We had lunch there, nachos with chilli con carne and chicken on the side. Thank goodness we decided to share as there was plenty of food, no stinginess in their servings. The staff were really lovely, friendly and very helpful. Also great for coeliacs, which my husband happens to be.

Interesting & unique experience What a cute little gem this place is. Had heard about it & happened to be passing through the area so stopped in for a quick visit. Really unique experience, good value for money & staff were absolutely lovely :) walked the gardens & had nachos & a frozen slushy drink which were all really good!! Unfortunately we didn’t have much time spare, but will definitely be back to spend some more time on the tracks next time - definitely a must do :) got to purchase & take home a cute living souvenir too :) glad we stopped in :)

nice place to visit it's nice to see lots of varierty of Cactus, but best season is in Oct-Nov when lots of flowers you can see on Cactus. Cafe and food is excellent . also best part friendly environment for dog. my furry baby enjoy a lot.

Bring a hat and sunscreen because it does get hot. The food isn’t the best and is a bit expensive. The cacti are awesome, with there being plenty of different types and various photo opportunities. Well worth the visit.

Cactus country On our way home from Barooga we visited Cactus country. It was nice. The restaurant food was delicious and we tried cactus cake too.

Cool & Quirky Garden We mucked up the times the garden was open and the lovely lady that worked there let us in, we had driven an hour to get there so that wonderful of her to help is out. The garden it self is huge and something unusual to see and I was surprised at how established and nicely it was set out and some of the cactus are beautiful when the flower. There are some fun photo op’s set up around the garden as well. We enjoyed our stroll around the garden. When in the area go see it, a little bit of Mexico at home.

Absolutely Epic ABSOLUTELY EPIC!! So many varieties of cacti that I have never seen before. The views were out of this world. Their cactus cake and cactus ice cream was so incredibly delicious and like nothing I’ve ever had before. So amazing

We had a great morning at Cactus Country. The garden was amazing years in the making with all kinds of Cactus on display. The cafe served great coffee, cactus cake and icecream with great menu for lunch. Colourful, welcoming plenty of time and space to roam.

Cactus Country is not open on Mondays and Tuesdays, but I rang to check and she allowed us to visit on the Tuesday! Great service! I love cactus plants and didn't want to miss this visit. Was totally amazed at the size of this place and the many different varieties on display in the garden. Some were huge! Others were fruiting! I don't think I have ever seen this many cactus! A truly unique experience! I wanted to buy a couple of the ones I had seen and was very disappointed when I seen the store. Poor selection and very over priced. They didn't have the ones I had seen in the garden and wanted. Buyers are also forced to buy larger more expensive specimens which may be more difficult to move and travel with. Not at all what I had expected from a specialized cactus retailer, especially after paying so much to visit the garden. Difficult to admit, but I had been really excited about the visit and enjoyed the garden but I actually left quite disappointed. Was it unreasonable to have high hopes of returning home with a new exciting cactus plant?

What a fun place........felt like we were out in the desert and in Mexico too. Julie was so accommodating for our "pop in visit" ????. Loved that the map was so easy to follow, and the cute little photo ops..... Cactus throne ???? loved to hear more about the day off the dead.....

This attraction contains an amazing array of cactai from around the world. I was also surprised that this type of attraction was to be found in county Victoria. However, it is very worthwhile visiting. It is very easy to walk around and we were fortunate in that a lot of the cactai were in flower. Dogs are also welcome to be taken into the garden on a leash. Cactai are available to be purchased and there is food and drinks also available to be purchased.

We visited for an hour on our way through.
We walked through most of it with our four kids, only skipping a little. There were plenty of interesting textures and shapes but it was very hot mid afternoon in summer. We enjoyed sitting in the air conditioned cafe afterwards though.
We ordered tickets online. The only benefit to this would be potentially a cheaper price.
There wasn't as much variety of plants for sale as I thought there might be. Perhaps Christmas had something to do with that. I would've like to see more cute cactus merchandise for souvenirs, or cactus themed art/craft.
The orange cactus cake and ice cream was nice. The ice cream was mildly fruity but lovely with the orange cake.
The decor is a Mexican theme throughout with Mexican music in the main building.
Some pathways have cactus growing over the path so be careful. Some signs were a bit dilapidated and difficult to read.
Signage throughout with snippets of info about the plants you're looking at would be an improvement. There is a guidebook of some sort if you scan a QR code, if you like doing that sort of thing.
The little hut on the hill gives a nice view and a reprieve from the heat.
Baby change table in women's toilets. Decent bathroom facilities.
You can see donkeys in the fields too.

Well worth the trip! A phenomenal, fascinating and absolutely stunning place to visit! Would especially recommend visiting in Oct/Nov when the Cacti are in bloom! The cafe is lovely too; the Cactus fruit cake & ice cream was a tasty new experience for us, and we really enjoyed the Nachos & jalapeño cheese sticks!

Recommended Good accomodation and nice people. Catus Country is a must go place. There is a variety of catus and they are flowering atm.

????This is not your usual garden ❣️ @cactuscountry is simply impressive, full of varieties of cacti, in different shapes and sizes. ????️You can tell much care and dedication have been put into this gigantic cactus farm. It is 3 hours drive from Melbourne and totally worth it.????

So special! The Passion Project. Great I had been wanting to visit Cactus Country for a couple of years . My daughter suggested we go together. We agreed as it is a 2.45h drive that it would be good to stay somewhere overnight before we visit. It’s great that the tickets were all day tickets which makes the experience more relaxing. The Mexican style buildings, music, art, was great. The staff were friendly and very helpful. It’s been going since 1988. Check out the video tour of the place by the founder/owner.

A very unique place This is Australia’s largest cactus garden. There are 12 acres to explore. My wife and I visited this unique garden during our recent holiday in Cobram where we stayed at the RACV Resort for four nights.

We were here at the opening time of 10 am and were the only visitors during the next 30 minutes, before a few other customers arrived. We walked across the entire garden and were the only ones during most of the walk. By the time we finished, there were a lot more people in the garden. Very glad we were early.

Amazing place An amazing display of cacti and succulents with beautiful flowers. I probably missed the best of the flowers by a week. I’ll be back next year to see more.

Well worth a visit We did a road trip from Adelaide to visit after seeing it as a featured location on MasterChef earlier this year. As my Mum is a fan of cactus and succulents it was the perfect spot to visit. She enjoyed the time spent there. We were treated to an amazing display of many cactus in full flower. The cafe food was great. Highly recommend trying the Cactus Icecream

the staff were efficient from getgo processes entry quick and easy. the grounds are layed out beautifully and easy acess to all cacti and succulents. spring is when the grounds shine with an abundance of colours that will touch your heart with joy! food was ordinary though nachos needed more flavour and choices limited, overall i would definately recommend a visit to expierence the beauty of the country its uniqueness and feel of transporting you to Mexico.

Family owned of cactus farm...you can feel the sense of family there...they devoted 35 years of their life to present such an artistic design of vast variety of cactus! Hidden gem! Hugh cactus country, took us a hour to wonder around. Didn’t see many cactus flowers, not sure we came at the right season. Tried combination of homemade cake and two scoops of cactus ???? ice cream for $15, small serves though. Otherwise we had a great time!
