Day 1: Perth – Kalbarri

Ocean air, epic views and your first taste of WA’s wild west. We roll out of Perth and kick things off along the coast with a walk through the Three Bays Walks at Greenhead — think rugged cliffs, turquoise water and plenty of photo stops. After lunch by the sea at Dynamite Bay, we cruise north along Indian Ocean Drive, soaking up classic west coast scenery.

Before reaching Geraldton, we stop at the iconic Hutt Lagoon Pink Lake — a WA bucket-list favourite and perfect for snapping that unreal pink-water shot. From here, it’s on to Kalbarri’s dramatic coastline, exploring the Natural Bridge and wandering along the cliffs at Castle Cove. Tonight, we settle into the chilled coastal town of Kalbarri, where the river meets the ocean and sunsets hit hard.

Day 2: Kalbarri – Monkey Mia

Gorges, skywalks and sleeping beachside with dolphins nearby. It’s an early start, but totally worth it. This morning we explore Kalbarri National Park, checking out the epic Murchison Gorge, Nature’s Window and the Kalbarri Skywalk — some of the most jaw-dropping views in the region. If you’re travelling in spring, keep an eye out for wildflowers adding pops of colour to the landscape.

Lunch is at the legendary Billabong Roadhouse (at your own expense), a true outback stop that’s been feeding travellers since the ’60s. From here, we head to Shell Beach, where the sand is made entirely of tiny white shells stretching as far as you can see. By late afternoon, we arrive at Monkey Mia, staying right on the beachfront inside the World Heritage–listed Shark Bay. Spend the afternoon your way — hire a kayak, chill by the water, or spot emus, kangaroos and marine life around the resort.

After the dolphin experience wraps up around 9am, you’ll have free time to enjoy the beach or join an optional marine wildlife cruise, where you may spot dugongs, turtles, sharks, rays and sea birds (pre-booking required).

Late morning, we regroup and head to Eagle Bluff, scanning the clear waters below for sharks and turtles, before stopping in Denham for lunch and a wander along the foreshore. The afternoon is all about the journey south, with rest stops at Overlander Roadhouse and Galena Bridge before arriving in Geraldton for our final night by the sea.

After cruising back along the coast, we stop in Jurien Bay for a walk along the jetty before heading to Cervantes for lunch at the famous Lobster Shack — including a guided look inside the lobster factory. Our final stop is the surreal Pinnacles Desert in Nambung National Park, where thousands of limestone pillars rise from the sand in one of WA’s most unique landscapes.
