American College Student I cannot recommend this trip enough!! As an American college student studying abroad in Sydney for the winter, I thought this would be the perfect way to end my Australian adventure, and it completely exceeded my expectations. Seb’s attention to detail and genuine care for each guest really stood out. I was a little sick at the beginning of the trip and stopped to buy ginger tea, and Seb actually saw me and bought it for me. That moment really summed up how he goes above and beyond to make sure everyone has an amazing experience. As a solo female traveler, I also felt incredibly safe the entire time.

I had some prior surfing experience, but this trip is definitely beginner-friendly as well. I loved meeting different instructors each day and exploring new surf spots. What really set this experience apart was the focus on helping us become independent surfers. We learned how to use Surfline, read forecasts, assess beach and geomorphic conditions, and understand proper surf etiquette (which not every coach teaches!). It was so empowering to see how much I improved over the week, I even felt confident trying a smaller board.

The accommodations were also a highlight. The campsites were nicer than many I’ve stayed at in the U.S., one even had a pool bar and hot tub! All had hot showers, bathrooms, and most had WiFi. The swags were comfortable and easy to set up. I was a bit nervous about the food since I’m a picky eater and don’t usually eat much vegetarian food, but everything was honestly delicious. It’s clear Seb puts a lot of thought into creating great meals.

Overall, I had an incredible time on the Surf Bus and would encourage anyone considering it to go. When you are in Byron Bay, you should definitely go to the Great Northern to watch the pianos because it was so much fun! If you end your trip in Brisbane, I’d also highly recommend staying at the Pullman Airport Hotel if you’re flying out the next day, as it was a great place to relax after a full day of surfing!

Amazing time Joined solo and unable to surf and had the best of time! There was a variety of surf levels in our group but the surf instructors were great at helping and supporting everyone in their improvement journey! The food and sleeping arrangements were great! Thanks Seb for a lovely time!

An Experience of a Lifetime 🏄‍♀️🚐 My sister and I signed up for the Sydney to Brisbane 6-day, 5-night Surf Bus Trip, and it was the best thing we could have ever done. Everything from the food, camping locations, and surf instructors to the surf locations and so much more was top-notch. Seb worried about every detail and has created one of the best, most authentic Australian experiences. Perfect surf trip to explore the east coast I highly recommend this trip with Seb! Every little aspect is perfectly arranged. You camp at beautiful campsites, have a surf lesson at a different beautiful bay everyday and get lovely walks in the evening to explore wildlife and the indigenious culture. Awesome surf trip!! I had the absolute best time on the surf bus! Everything is so well organised. I was able to learn how to surf within a week. All thanks to Seb and the great surf instructors on the trip. In Addition we were able to see the australian wildlife and stay at beautiful campsites along the way. The Australian Surf Bus is the best way to learn to surf, enjoy Australia’s beauty and meet nice people! One week on the Australian Surf Bus was an incredible experience to say the least. It was filled with kind people, super surfspots and guides (all so chill and ready to cheer you up on every wave), good music, lots of wildlife and wonderful activities! Seb was the best host: if there was a problem he immediately helped solving it to make the week the most enjoyable and memorable for everyone.

Great experience The trip was chaotic in the best way with so many unexpected moments. Seb is absolutely wonderful caring and always looking after everyone on the trip. All the instructors along the way are very nice and supportive completely beginner friendly, it’s a really unique way to see this part of Australia!

Best ever! Seb is so lovely and everything was perfect!! I really appreciated the fact that he introduced us to every First Nations country we drove through along the road trip and the history of Australia. Lots of nature walks and never got bored. Definitely recommend for solo travellers looking to meet new people or for friend groups! Such a supportive environment and you meet some real cool surf coaches along the way too.

Australian Surf Bus tour Feb 2026 One of the best decisions I have ever made was booking a trip on the Australian Surf Bus. Guaranteed heaps of fun all throughout the trip and Seb was an absolute legend who has not only so much knowledge to help you learn or improve on your surfing skills, but also knowledge about Australia and it's culture. He is also really invested in making sure everyone on the trip is having fun and enjoying themselves. HIGHLY recommend booking a trip.

Fun experience A good choice if you are solo travelling and want to see the east coast. Seb is very kind and supportive, and is a very good tour he has where you can experience different sides of Australia. If you’re a complete beginner as I was maybe you want to take a lesson or two before. But overall it’s a really good and funny camp 🥰

Legendary surf trip This was my first surf trip and it definitely made me want to do more. Meeting a new instructor every day was so valuable every coach was incredibly nice and positive. The stops were all very different but equally beautiful, and we got to see so much wildlife and nature. I really appreciated learning about Aboriginal culture and the historically significant places we visited. Thank you, Seb!

Sun gods on our side with a small spurt of rain in Byron but we were entertained by card games.

Highly recommend ASB to anyone who wants to travel with 8 new found friends, camp along the way and enjoy Australia nature whilst putting skills to the test at each beach. I wish I had my camera for the white kangaroo!! Now stored in the memory bank.

Best trip ever ! One of the best trips I have ever taken!! I came into this never having surfed before and honestly thinking I wouldn’t like it that much but wanting to try something new. By the end of the trip I loved it!! Not only did I have a great time but I came away feeling like I understood the basics of surfing and I could take things I learnt on the trip and progress on my own. The video analysis every night really helped with this. Seb is the coolest guy and just wants you to have the best time and see some of the coolest spots on the east coast that otherwise are usually missed. The small group aspect is amazing and it becomes like a little family very quickly, all travelling along the east coast together and going for a surf every day <3 I couldn’t recommend this trip enough and I would do it again in a heartbeat!

Have come away from this trip feeling incredibly lucky to have surfed in such iconic spots with amazing instructors, seeing so much wildlife (whales, dolphins, turtles, kangaroos, Koalas and Emu’s) and friends for life who I’ve already planned future trips with! Learn to surf in the most beautiful spots along the least coast I couldn’t recommend Australian Surf Bus more! Each aspect of the trip was planned out perfectly to be jam packed whilst still super relaxed. The surf spots were well selected to suit our skill level and the coaches were super supportive meaning we were able to progress so much throughout the week. The camping, the hiking, the food were all also great and Seb is such a kind soul. Can’t wait to see you again soon ️‍️

A must do for backpackers and locals My trip with the Australian Surf Bus was nothing short of wonderful! Seb has an abundance of knowledge around the areas we visited and the surf which added a super informative layer to the experience.

As an Aussie who hadn’t surfed before, this trip gave me the courage to get out and keep up the practice. It was also lovely seeing places in my own backyard I hadn’t previously seen, or gaining some new insight into them. This trip is not just for backpackers!

Just do it! 🤙🏄‍♀️ I had an amazing time on the Australian Surf Bus. I was unsure at first having some old knee injuries, being in my forties, and having a total of 3 surfing lessons 10+ years ago, but the surf coaches and Seb were so great!
Despite some rain and wild water conditions, i STILL had an awesome time. The swags were surprisingly comfortable, easy to assemble and not as small as they looked! The camp sites were fantastic. All clean with good showers and kitchens.
Im an Aussie city girl and I'd recommend this trip for Aussies also. Seb is passionate about indigenous culture and sustainability. I learned alot about my own backyard.
Im inspired to continue surfing - that feeling of popping up and cruising (even for only 5 seconds 😅) is bliss. Yes, you'll take tumbles, nose dives and waves smashing in your face but its all part of the deal and as Seb says "its only water"! Regarding surfing I think this trip is good both beginners and intermediate for we had both experienced and no experience on my trip.

Unforgettable camping experience I had the best experience with Australian Surfbus! It’s the perfect combination of exploring the east coast, surfing, eating healthy, being outdoors and meeting lovely people. I learned so much in just one week from Seb, and I now feel way more confident heading to the lineup on my own. The trip was well-organized and exceeded all my expectations. I couldn’t recommend it more for anyone looking to improve their surf skills while enjoying sunrise, sunsets, koalas, kangaroos, whales and dolphins.

The vibes were great, the places we stayed at beautiful, we spotted kangourous, whales and koalas ! And obviously surfed at amazing spots away from the crowd !

just beautiful! I genuinely had the most beautiful week of my life on the Australian Surf Bus. We visited some great surf spots, explored amazing untouched places along the east coast, spotted whales everyday and went on some beautiful hikes. Not to mention the beautiful people I met along the way and got to share these experiences with. It’s perfect for people wanting to get into surfing, solo travellers or locals wanting to explore some more of our insane coast line. 10/10 great vibes Hands down the best thing you'll do if your'e in Australia wanting to learn how to surf. Not only does Seb take you off the beaten path to surf spots you would never have even have heard of, he knows the local surf legends in each spot so you get the best of the best learning experience. The whole experience also includes camping in nature, wildlife bush walks, education on ancient indigenous culture, and just all around great vibes. As a bonus you get to walk away with a new group of like-minded new friends. Seb is a legend. Surf analysis in the evenings too was key to progression even if it was one of the most humbling experience I've ever had.
