A full day of adventure in the most iconic parts of the Blue Mountains. Featuring our most popular Empress Canyon tour with the inclusion of a morning spent abseiling on the towering cliffs above the Megalong Valley.

With our Abseiling and Empress Canyon Combo you can quench your thirst for adventure! Learn to abseil on a 5m wall, work up to a 15m abseil and then conquer the 30m pitch to finish off the morning. 

Cool off in the afternoon with a spectacular canyon trip. The trip includes lunch, all abseiling and canyoning equipment and we will provide you with all the training and instruction. The canyon involves multiple rock jumps from heights up to 2m, short swims and finishes with a jaw dropping 30m abseil down a waterfall and into a rock pool at the bottom. 


Difficulty: Suitable for first time canyoners.

Requirements: A moderate level of fitness, full mobility, good general health. Must be comfortable in water.

Expectations: Adventurous activities are tough – you must expect the possibility of, at times, being uncomfortable, wet, cold, tired and scared.

Don’t book this tour without first discussing what the tour involves with all members of your group and checking they meet the fitness requirements.

Length: Approximately 6-7 hours.

Included: Lunch, all canyoning equipment, qualified canyoning guide and safety instruction including abseiling techniques.

Meeting location: As per confirmation email, by default – Narrow Neck Lookout, Cliff Drive, Katoomba.


This exciting adventure consists of:

IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING:

You will receive a digital Medical form/Waiver form link to be completed individually by each participant either prior to arrival or on arrival. 

Unaccompanied participants under 18 years of age must have their form(s) completed prior to the activity by a parent or legal guardian.

MEETING LOCATION

Unless specified otherwise, the default meeting location for this activity is Narrowneck Lookout, Cliff Drive, Katoomba. A google maps link to this location is provided above next to the start time.

There are no bathroom facilities at this location, please visit Katoomba Coles shopping center at beforehand.

Late arrival will result in your tour commencing without you. Aim to arrive early if traveling from afar.

After the morning abseiling session, you will move on to the following location for lunch and the Canyoning component of the tour: outside the Conservation Hut Cafe, Wentworth Falls. The tour will finish at this location.

What to bring for Canyoning:
• Wear active/sports/hiking clothes. (Dress appropriately for the weather – please check the forecast beforehand).
• Cold weather: warm layers such as a fleece or warm jacket, thermal undershirt and long pants
Enclosed running shoes, joggers or trainers – a pair you are happy to get wet. Boots are acceptable but not ideal.
Do not wear sandals, open footwear or soft-soled reef shoes – these are not permitted
• Swimming attire (wear under clothes)
• 1–2 litres of water minimum (more in hot weather)
• Sunscreen
• Hair ties for long hair
• Sunglasses (optional — secure or inexpensive)
• Waterproof Camera (Optional. Must float/be attached to your body). GoPro action cameras are available to rent; contact us if you would like to arrange a rental.
• Personal medication if required

Wetsuits are not worn during the morning abseiling section of the tour.
For the canyoning portion, you will change into wetsuits at the canyon entry and store your dry clothes in provided dry bags. These clothes are worn again when exiting the canyon. Canyoning backpacks are provided to carry equipment during the canyon.

Leave the following behind in your car or the guide vehicle for after the tour:
• A towel.
• Change of clothes.
• Change of footwear.

Please leave valuables at home as we cannot guarantee their safety, especially easily lost or fragile items such as jewellery and non-waterproof fragile electronics.

You are responsible for any personal items you choose to bring into the canyon. Items taken into the canyon are exposed to water and impact and may be lost or damaged.
