We had a wonderful time attending this tour. Our 5 year old twins enjoyed it too. Our tour guide Pam was lovely. Tour Covered so much history and having opportunities to take photos throughout it was great. Would recommend!

Special visit to the MCG Stadium Brilliant experience at the MCG Sports Museum today. Our guide, John, was ideal for this tour. He explained the range of activities at the MCG stadium and answered our questions in an entertaining manner. We were impressed with the scale of operations needed to prepare the stadium for all the sporting & other events which take place here. A very special visit for me, I would recommend it to any sports fan.

Interactive Displays We visited the museum after an MCG tour. The museum has a great array of memorabilia including Cathy Freeman’s speed suit and the Olympic cauldron from the 1956 games. The Shane Warne exhibit also had a great array of artifacts for those cricket tragics. My 12 year old enjoyed the interactive displays too.

Visited as part of the MCG Stadium Tour, which includes entry into the Australian Sports Museum at the end. The main part of the tour is with a group of roughly 20 people and an experienced guide. John was our tour leader and he was extremely engaging, funny and very knowledgeable in the history of the ground, Australian sports and wider cricket.

The tour allows you to experience various vantage points of the stadium (eg from pitchside to one of the highest stands and the best private boxes). You also get to walk through the home and away dressing rooms and John painted a picture of what would go on during matchday.

Overall, I would highly recommend the MCG tour and allocating yourself 15-30 minutes after to walk through the various exhibits in the sports museum. The live tour is the best part.

Well worth a visit when you're in Melbourne A great experience for any sports fan. The tour of the MCG is worth the little bit extra it costs. Tickets are well priced. Staff were knowledgeable and helpful about the history of the ground. Visit the Warne: Treasures of a Legend exhibit before it finishes on August 9th. The items on display really make you feel connected to the great man himself.

Must visit for all cricket fans Brilliant experience seeing the MCG from the top and the Long Room in the members area which felt like a real privilege.
We had a great guide - thank you Carol - she had so many facts & figures at her fingertips it made it so interesting. Loved all the history and that the Melbourne Cricket Club and the Marylebone Cricket Club share the same logo.
Highly recommend to any cricket fans, it was a terrific experience.
Also visited the Warne exhibit which was interesting and touching. His kids speak about various of his sporting achievements - my nephew's favourite was the dancing stump. So great to see the actual stump there!

MCG great experience Tour was excellent Guide was very interesting and informative saw so much of the mcg underground and behind the public area. Museum was vast lots to see had an interactive area for adults and kids Warne expo also very good. Grandsons found the whole tour and museum well worth the cost had lunch at The Paddock cafe overlooking the oval.

Fun day out at Melbourne cricket club museum. Learned about the history. Got to see the ground. A little pricey but worth it. Nice cafe too!

This place is a great spot for whole family. It has stuff for the oldies and newer stuff for mid age. And down stairs there is an interactive section for the kids. Make sure you watch the Warney show and there is some info about the mcg I didn’t know-“reversible grandstands that burnt down.

We live in Melbourne, highly recommend the tour of the G, was really knowledgeable the history of the great ground and seeing all the areas we don’t have access to on game days.

Great experience and a location if you are in to sports and history of Australian sports landscape. There's a lot of exhibits donated by sports persons and detailed depictions of historical events.

There's also an activity area for kids to play around in. Have to be mindful that this location attracts a lot of school excursions so be prepared to share the space with students. Usually they move fast so if you're not in a hurry, it should be ok. Overall great experience for kids and highly recommend!

My son celebrated his 11th birthday here and I am amazed the with the overall experience. Your staff at the cafe (Jo and the team) were amazing and they made the kids feel extremely happy.

From the moment I checked in with Liam at Reception to meeting Ross downstairs as I started my museum visit, I was blown away by the interesting, informative and interactive exhibits. It’s honestly the most engaged I’ve been in any museum in Australia or internationally. I loved every area and enjoyed thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It’s a great place to bring kids as they are lots of engaging activities! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Great for kids! Very interactive for kids, they get to play sport, answer questions and do fun stuff! Not your typical museum that puts kids to sleep from boredom. My 7 year old son really enjoyed it and I did too!

A must visit for anyone interested in Australian sporting history Fantastic place for anyone interested in Australian sporting history, I would recommend allowing at least 3 hours to get the full benefit of the interactive screens that have all the information relating to each display. I would do the MCG tour after or even on another day so as to have time to see everything!

A great tour! We did the MCG tour with Peter, one of the volunteer guides. He was amazing! So knowledgeable and attentive to the whole group. Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone interested in the history of cricket, with some other sports covered too.

Educational & Fun Sports Museum I love visiting the Sports museum,as i am such a passionate Sports lover for AFL, Cricket & Rugby Union. I get see the history of the games I love. The most memorable part is Shane Warne. It's like it's real one of Shane Warne. When in Melbourne I make sure I visit the museum.

The MCG is truly an amazing place and well worth booking the tour. Unfortunately our tour guide lady was really poor. Spent ages showing us around the basement garage pointing at closed doors telling us that's where the press area is, talking about recycling Taylor Swift's waste water and bigging up her personal anecdotes like meeting Kapil Dev in about 1982... so much so, that when we finally got to the really interesting stuff around the library and all the historic cricket memorabilia, she'd run out of time and raced us through way too fast. Talking before the group was assembled, vague with detail, poor overall. Not great. The Museum downstairs is really excellent. Superb interactive stuff and amazing 10 minute Shane Warne hologram.

Great family activity Great family activity which would suit most people. From the sports mad to the mildly sporting interested, lots of interesting and fun activities, hands on stuff for kids.
Takes a few hours to walk through but is worth the time. Food available in the cafe ‘Paddock’ to stop for lunch before or afterwards.

A Fantastic Sporting Experience A fantastic sporting experience and a must for all sports enthusiasts, the tour of the grounds and then visiting the Sports Museum was a great way to spend the day. There is something for everyone and lots of sporting history to learn.
The visit is suitable for all ages and was enjoyed by both Grandson and Grandfather with a 60 year age difference. I can highly recommend the experience for all sports lovers.m

Visited Melbourne last month and had to visit the MCG and Museum for my sports mad partner. I’m not hugely into sport but really enjoyed this tour. We had a great guide who had good banter and knowledge. The MCG is amazing… can imagine the atmosphere on game day. Seeing behind the scenes and how big the stadium actually is was very interesting.
We only had a quick look through the museum but a lot of history there.. would definitely recommend, even to those not into sport etc.

The lady at the counter (Trudy) was such a delight! She helped us apply our discounts and chatted it up with us. Super welcoming environment. We went at a good time on the weekday (do note you might run into a hoard of school students though). Do check out their cafe too before you go in (The brownie and muffin was such a sweet tooth’s delight)

I have been here on a school tour, and also as a member of the public. Both tours were interesting and slightly different. It was great to see the areas of the ground the public wouldn't normally see. The museum is full of amazing artefacts and information from all sports, including: cricket, AFL, Olympics, Commonwealth Games, as well as concerts like Robbie Williams.

I would recommend everyone go if they ever get the chance. I might even go again myself.

We had a great time! Our tour was amazing. Our guide Ian was very knowledgeable and easy to hear. We got to see many cool places including the changing rooms, members pavilion and got to walk on the outer ring of the field. The sports museum was fun for all ages with heaps of interactive bits. Great experience visiting the MCG and the Australian sports museum. The tours are conducted very professionally and gives us a nice insight into one of the worlds greatest sports venues. My guide Graeme was a lovely elderly gentleman who showed us the best spots and allowed us ample time to take photos too. Highly recommended for sports lovers.

Fantastic place to visit with the kids. The interactive play space was so fun and engaging. We could have stayed all day. The food options were limited though, but what was available was sufficient for our needs.
Lovely staff everywhere, from when you first walk in and then throughout the whole museum. Thanks for making our experience that much better.

MCG 2024 jan tour This was a great tour, full of information and little interesting bits of local knowledge. Nigel the tour leader was very good with the geoup and kept it relevant and fast paced.

Must visit as you can touch the grass of MCG. Its a cricket lovers heaven.

Museum & MCG Tour are Awesome - allocate plenty of time We started with a coffee then onto the MCG tour. 90 minutes of behind the scenes stories, anecdotes & pure history. Our guide, John, like all guides is a volunteer member of the Melbourne Cricket Club. He was very knowledgeable and witty.

Our day was 34 degrees so guides were excused from jackets, only wearing ties.

Then a free ice cream for the kids and down into the (air conditioned) museum. It is a great collecting of memorabilia, film, photos and sound.

There’s lots of fun interactive stuff for the kids of all ages.

Volunteer guides know their stuff and have stories you’d never hear anywhere else.

We spent 3 hours on both but could easily have spent hours more.

The museum is very accessible for any mobility level with lifts, ramps etc .

The MCG tour is suitable for likitwd endurance etc with gentle slopes, elevators and escalators. There are some gentle stairs, but I’m sure they are avoidable.

The sports museum is absolutely fantastic. All sports are covered from athletics to Rugby League and beyond. The cricket section is brilliant and there are also interactive displays are fun and educational at the same time… the guides at the Australian Sports Museum are brilliantly knowledgeable in every sport and it was an absolute pleasure to listen the stories of sports people past and present. I spoke to Barry who was well beyond knowledgeable, who filled my tea break with sporting knowledge.. it was a joy.. Do yourself a favour and go the Australian Sports Museum…

A amazing adventure of all sports and MCG information. Make sure you go into the MCG part as it is filled with amazing stuff I never knew, about our great stadium. And the elderly gentleman in there is absolutely fascinating to talk to. It's a totally must see.

A must go place. The tour is well worthwhile. My uncle enjoyed it very much, and so did the two 18 year olds. The guide was well-informed and presented well. Will go again when another friend comes over to spend time with us
