At Cradle Mountain start our walk at Dove Lake as we head straight up to Hanson’s Peak. This steep track climbs quickly above Dove Lake and will certainly get the heart and legs pumping.
From Hanson’s Peak we descend onto the Twisted Lakes area where we take in some amazing mirrored images on the water and great views to Cradle Mountain and the surrounds.
Heading along the face track we will walk under the imposing peaks of Cradle Mountain. Looking back up to Cradle from underneath is really a sight to behold and we eventually join part of the Overland track near Kitchen Hut.
We trek on and upwards entering the large rock and boulder section of the climb, eventually reaching the summit. At the summit (if weather allows) we will have some lunch and a break allowing time to appreciate the spectacular views.
Making our way back Via Marion’s lookout and Wombat pool. Once we are all back safely, we congratulate and farewell each other before we drop you back to your hotel or the Visitor Centre.
This is difficult walk, particularly near the summit with rock scrambling and fixed chain assist.

We want to thank Dale our driver and Bill or an excellent day.
He's the best bus driver I have ever had, and I'm sure the group would agree.
We wish Dale all the best.
Was very lucky with the good weather
Amazing view of the mountains and crystal clear lake
Steve and Ronnie were so obliging to help my partner spring a surprise marriage proposal at Dove Lake on my birthday! They took great photos! Thanks McDermott's for making our day so memorable.
Really enjoyed Wilhelm cottage.
Macca (driver and guide) was AMAZING, but needs to work a bit on his jokes & get his “botany” sorted
Overall, a lovely trip
We got to experience local history and amazing views, with clear skys over cradle mountain and learn the amazing history behind it becoming a heritage park and experience the story of those early pioneers.
Highly recommend the trip.
