Good family style accomodation with tonnes of activities We have stayed at Paradise Resort 4 times. Every visit is full of happy memories, my kids love it here and I feel like I can relax.

The family rooms offer the best accommodation in my opinion. We are staying in a room with an adjoining door (didn’t book two rooms, just one) and we can hear every word they say, when their small child cries (which thankfully hasn’t been that frequent). But there’s better rooms. If you can afford it, upgrade to a two bedroom room because we have only had very nice quiet night sleeps in them. I would not stay in this style room ever again here.

The activities are a bit lower in non peak periods. This is the first time we have stayed outside of summer and noticed the drop in kids club sessions and general activities, so if that’s your thing, book in summer, it’s packed and lots of fun for kids to meet people and be kids.

The rooms are now really comfy, the new mattresses are so great.

After coming since the kids were little and now not so little, it would be great for some teen stuff in summer periods.

Great stay, great fun. My husband and two children (8 and 6) stayed for 4 nights, travelling from Melbourne.
While the rooms need a good update, the staff more than make up for it!
My kids did a few activities, which were really well organised, and I really enjoyed doing them with them. What made them extra special was Molly! She is such an assett to your resort! She was fantastic with all the kids, and got down on their level and they all loved her!
What made everything even better was going to the dancing and singing show on Thursday night, and she was one of the dancers! She was amazing to watch and my daughter now wants to be just like her! Please pass on to her my thanks for making our holiday so good. We will defenitely be back, and my kids want to do ALL the fun activities with Molly!

We came in with realistic expectations given mixed reviews. Upon arrival it was pretty evident that the rooms were very outdated, air-conditioner flooding the wall and floor ( and our child's bed!). The bathtub was painted and our kids were covered in paint flakes when we bathed them. Vanity touched up badly with orange paint. No aircon in the adults portion of the room, so we had a noisy wall mounted fan to try and stay cool ( the kids room had the split system 🤷). The venue itself was better.

However, the staff were all great, restaurants great ( pricey but good easy meals!), coffee was great, breakfast was basic but ticked the box.

The location isn't amazing, expected as it's a larger resort, so naturally they're out of the main hub, everything is a bit of a walk, not a deal breaker but we prefer to be more centrally located to restaurants etc.

The water parks are so fun for the kids, but they're full of obnoxious kids who's parents aren't supervising, think.. kids who push other kids in the back, push in line for slides, refuse to wait their turn and go down the slide and hurt your child. My husband and I ended up positioning one of us at the top of the waterpark to protect our 3 kids from being hurt, it's was pretty ridiculous. Lazy parents, kids taking advantage of that. I really think they need an attendant on the big water park to manage the slide queues.

We are big world travellers, we've stayed many resorts in Australia with our kids and many similar styles overseas, so we came in with a pretty realistic expectation, but we were disappointed. We purchased this stay as a package deal for a heavily reduced price, so it made the flaws much easier to swallow. If we'd paid full price, I would've been pretty annoyed. We won't be returning sadly!

Excellent for families with children, the restraint is very child friendly. Make sure to take advantage of lunch and dinner for children, we didn't but worked it out in the end. Great to stay on some for a short stay, so many activities for kids, even on wet days.... and also a good location fo you are going to the entertainment district.

We stayed in the older complex, Astros Alley. Still perfectly fine. Great comfy beds and pillows.

The amount of activities for the kids to do say on and day out was amazing. The water parks was a huge winner for our kids. There was alot of children everywhere but the water was clean and the slides and some of the equipment doea need repiaring.
The food court was amazing and very well priced this was a great idea to ensure the kids were well fed and could continue to play all day. The lower games rooms had everything needwd to keep them entertained. The biggest let down was the quality of the accommodation for $369 dollars a night for a family room . We stayed on the lower level astro rooms not only was it extremely noisey from kids and adults walking down the hall way well onto the evenings. We could hear footsteps from the rooms above. The rooms are very out dated as shown in the pictures. Kids bunk room had a small air-conditioning unit that leaked water. But theaon room had a terrible small fan on the wall. The bathroom didn't have a fan in there and the bth shower had a very low shower head. The carpets were old and manky. I can honestly say I would rather stay somewhere closer to the shops and amenities near Cavill ave. Very expensive for such a room

Paradise Resort It’s a great location for kids. The staff were fantastic and very friendly. The food in poolside area, not so good. Lots of brown food. Would have loved to get something a bit healthier. The breakfast however was very good. Rooms are basic and could do with a refresh, but it is what it is and kids absolutely love it. I traveled with daughter and grandsons . They had a ball .

Great space for families and small kids We stayed at Paradise Resort on the Gold Coast in March with family and friends, and overall had a mixed experience.

There are definitely some positives. The room was neat and tidy on arrival, although a little dated and incredibly warm as the aircon wasn't on. The daily housekeeping (excluding Sundays) was appreciated and helped keep things comfortable during our stay. The on-site café/restaurant was very convenient although more healthier options would have been appreciated. It was great to see gluten-free breakfast options available. The kids facilities are a real highlight — plenty of activities and pools to keep them entertained. Having access to a self-service laundry was also very handy.

However, there are a number of areas that need improvement. The rooms are quite outdated where we stayed in Astros Alley and could benefit from a refresh — the carpets in particular felt dirty especially throughout the venue. The layout and functionality of the room could also be improved, with no bedside tables on both sides, limited power points (none by the bed), and nowhere practical to place suitcases without using drawers or the wardrobe. There’s also no microwave, just a fridge, which made things a bit inconvenient. One of our party also had issues with parking even when he had a booking however we felt this was due to bays being taken up by hotel storage.

Noise was another issue — the rooms aren’t well insulated from hallway or outside noise, and with hallway lights always on and light coming in under the door, it made it harder to get a good night’s sleep. Blockout curtains would make a big difference here as well.

The bathroom setup is quite basic, with only a three-in-one soap provided, so you’ll need to bring your own shampoo and conditioner. Lastly, it was disappointing that the adult-only area was still not open — having a dedicated space for adults to relax, especially at a family-focused resort, would really improve the overall experience.

Overall, Paradise Resort is fantastic for kids and offers convenience for families, a great central location which is accessible however the rooms and facilities could use some updates to better match expectations.

We are sad to leave this morning after 5 amazing nights with my little family! My girls are 3 & 5, we have been counting down for nearly a year and it met out expectations. It is such a kid friendly place. The rooms are comfortable and while a little dated there are no issues function wise. Our cleaners were so nice and it was such a relief each time we returned after a day of swimming to our room reset 😍 the reception staff were extremely helpful and a shout out to Amber in the pamper parlour who was so kind, gentle and patient with my girls getting their hair braided. She really took interest in them and did what she could to make them comfortable moving their seats and turning on their favourite movie, she was so lovely and talented! We have loved the nightly entertainment from movie to dance parties and the family games night was our favourite. The food options are great my kids had a different dinner each night and were so hungry from swimming all day that they ate it all! The resort is a short walk to the closest tram which takes 5 minutes to get you to surfers CBD and the bus stop for Sea World is right out the front of the resort. The bus and trams only cost us 50cents. Thankyou for helping us create core memories for our kids 🩷

Stayed her with a family of five (including a teen - toddler) and it absolutely delivered. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable - though honestly, we barely used it because there was so much to do.
The bathroom was recently renovated and featured the best show of my life. Beds were comfy, and despite facing the street, the room was quiet inside.
Check-in was easy and friendly, we even scored a much appreciated early check-in, but bag storage was available otherwise. On-site parking was simple and stress-free.
Facilities were excellent for kids. The indoor playground was a huge hit (and a great air-conditioned break for parents). The outdoor water areas were fun with plenty of seating around, though a bit more shade would've been nice.
Kids Club was a win - the pre-teen loved it his room and the toddler was thrilled to be able to watch TV in the mini-kids club.
Food was well-priced and family-friendly, though the vegetarian dinner options were pretty basic. Breakfast was a highlight: simple continental buffet plus optional paid extras, which worked really well.
Staff were genuinely friendly and helpful, and the location is perfect - right in Surfers and on the tram line.
Would happily stay again... the kids would tomorrow

Great place for kids. So many activities provided throughout the day. All staff were incredibly accomadating and after not needing our car parking, we received our refund straight away. Big ups especially Shona at reception was so helpful and friendly and also the entertainment crew I don't know how they do it, dealing with multiple kids daily but my family and I really enjoyed all the activities. Every corner of this place is jam packed with fun. Highly recommend.

We have stayed here multiple times and cant fault the service. Our most recent time, the reception staff were extremely accommodating and helpful. We had Molly who did our build a bear experience, and was nothing short of engaging, playful and exceptional for our little girl. We only stayed in the astro rooms, as we see no point in paying for pricier rooms, as there is SO MUCH to do and the only time we spent in the room was sleeping. The resort has so much activities and play areas for kids, it is non stop fun and excitement. We still have not experienced all the activities or events, after multiple visits. We will definitely be visiting again soon.

Firstly, we came to the resort as Aunt and Uncle. No kids.
We had a deluxe room, which we thought for just a couple was perfect. And we assumed would fit two kiddies nicely too.
As a young couple we survived three nights here fairly easily. Yes there’s kids and families running around enjoying themselves sometimes at 10pm. But hey, family resort.
We thought all the activities included were pretty decent. We did take note that even as DINKs the price was a bit tough in this economy and felt for the families, but where isn’t it a bit $$ these days right?
There’s clearly a nostalgia vibe inside this place. As an early 90s baby I was loving the modern mixed with the “outdated” as some would say. I however felt like I was being reintroduced to my childhood.

And they are clearly working on the place which was clearly noted in our booking. We even thought our view would be obstructed but found it looking over the street fair enough. We weren’t staying in the room anyways.

Staff honestly went above and beyond making this a wholesome family vacation for us, my mother, sister and nephew included. So so many of you. From the hospitality staff, the housekeeping, lifeguards, reception. Amazing individuals providing an amazing service and experience. The chefs provided amazing food.

Again, we came to this place childless to be with family with a child. And we had a great time.

We recently stayed at Paradise Resort Gold Coast with our family, and I have mixed feelings.
First, a big positive: the staff were genuinely excellent. Almost everyone we interacted with was patient, welcoming, and fantastic with kids — and even managed to entertain the adults too. You can tell many of them have real talent and experience working with families, and that made a huge difference to our stay.

Unfortunately, the resort itself really needs attention.
Rooms: old, overpriced, and poor location
The rooms feel very outdated and in urgent need of refurbishment, especially considering the high room prices. Even worse, our room was positioned directly facing huge garbage bins, with the smell and noisy collections happening late at night (including around 2 AM). No resort should place guest rooms in that kind of location — it completely ruins the experience. That area would be far better used for a gym expansion or other non-guest facilities.

Gym: too small and under-equipped
The gym was tiny, claustrophobic, and not properly equipped, which was disappointing for a resort charging premium prices.

Breakfast: poor value for the cost
For the price of the rooms, you’d expect a full breakfast buffet included, with at least basic hot options like eggs and hash browns. Instead, the breakfast buffet felt very limited and poor, and definitely not what you’d expect from a resort.

Pool area: too crowded and not enough space
The pool facilities are small and don’t seem designed to safely handle the number of guests. It felt overcrowded and stressful at times rather than relaxing.
What made it worse is that it appears non-guests can freely enter the pool area, as there are no wristbands or proper access control. With open access from the street, the pool area becomes extremely busy and crowded — and paying guests are left competing for space.

Ice skating: disappointing interaction
One letdown was the ice skating activity. There was only one game, and when the kids asked for another, the staff member running it refused to do a second round. It felt unnecessarily rigid and left the kids disappointed.

Final thoughts
Overall, the staff are the biggest strength of this resort — they were truly wonderful and deserve recognition. But the rooms, facilities, breakfast quality, and overcrowding don’t match the high price tag. With refurbishment, better breakfast value, and proper pool access control, this could be a much better family resort.

At the moment, though, I wouldn’t consider it good value for money.

Our room in Astro Alley was small and dated. Could do with a refurbishment at the very least. Bathroom was also very old fashioned. The draw card of this resort is the small waterpark for younger children with parents able to relax next to the pool with an offering of cocktails and food. Definitely only worth staying here if your children's entertainment is a priority. Can't comment on other rooms. Location to beach and Surfers Paradise entertainment district are very convenient. Food at hotel restaurants was average.

Wonderful stay at Paradise Resort Gold Coast
We had a fantastic stay at Paradise Resort Gold Coast. The resort is perfect for families, with so many fun activities for kids and a great atmosphere overall. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well set up for a relaxing stay.
The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. The pools, water play area, and kids’ activities kept everyone entertained, and the location is excellent—close to the beach, shops, and public transport.
Overall, it was a fun, stress-free holiday and great value for money. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to families visiting the Gold Coast.

Perfect Family Resort We had an amazing stay at Paradise Resort Gold Coast. The resort is ideal for families, with fantastic facilities, plenty of activities for children, and a fun, welcoming atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, and everything was clean and well maintained. The location is excellent and makes it easy to enjoy all that the Gold Coast has to offer. We created wonderful family memories and would highly recommend this resort to anyone travelling with children. We would love to return in the future.

Second time coming and it's just as good as the first. Staff are friendly and helpful. Lot's of activities for the kids. Food is reasonably priced. Kids club is fantastic for a break. Quick stroll to the beach. We had an updated room which was perfect for ours needs. Handy shop downstairs. We have only left the resort to go to the beach and Timezone

Was a fantastic stay we loved our holiday hear. More suited for the children. Food and drinks were very pricey. Activities for the kids were amazing along with the staff very helpful and friendly. At times it got very noisy but was shut down quickly with the help of front desk. Could do with some cooking equipment in the rooms.

The resort is a great stay for kids and families. The waterpark area provides hours of fun including activities such as movies, trivia contests and music for kids to dance to. Lots of other indoor activities as well. Food can be purchased easily but can be expensive if you include breakfast, lunch and dinner for a week. Service is exceptional in all areas. Very friendly and helpful staff, nothing is too much trouble. Rooms are comfortable and clean and are serviced daily. Maxi taxi to Surfers Paradise main precinct costs about $20.00 one way.

We are currently staying at Paradise Resort, and unfortunately the experience so far has been very disappointing. We have been here since Sunday and our room has not been serviced even once, despite making several requests. The explanations given by staff were that our room was “not on the schedule” or that housekeeping prioritises check-out rooms for incoming guests, which is extremely frustrating for paying, in-house guests.

To make matters worse, the plumbing in our original room made loud rattling noises throughout the night, repeatedly waking our children. A plumber inspected the issue and informed us that it was due to the building being very old and that nothing could be done. After multiple requests, we were eventually moved to another room; however, this room was located at the far corner of the resort, and once again, no room service was provided despite repeated follow-ups.

For families who don’t travel often—particularly internationally—and who may not have experienced high standards of customer service or resort stays, this place might feel acceptable or even enjoyable. However, for families who travel frequently and have stayed at quality resorts around the world, the shortcomings here are very noticeable.

This resort is extremely basic, with nothing particularly memorable or standout. The rooms are borderline average, room service is below average, the hotel staff generally lack passion for customer service, the restaurants are overpriced and restaurant staff are undertrained.

The kids waterpark areas is good but not the adult pool was under maintenance so the little kids pool was crowded by adults.

Personally, I regret spending my money here. I would much rather save a little more and travel to international destinations where you receive far better value and service for your hard-earned money. When comparing my experience at Paradise Resort with resorts such as Phuket Orchid Resort, Bali Dynasty, or Sheraton Denarau Fiji, I would choose any of those options over Paradise Resort without hesitation.

We had a wonderful stay at Paradise Resort Gold Coast. It’s extremely family-friendly, with a great water park and plenty of activities. My kids had a fantastic time, especially swimming today from 5–6pm. During that time, I lost my phone at the pool, but a young female staff member found it and tracked me down using the photos on my phone screen. I’m extremely grateful to her, and I’d love for the resort to know how amazing she was. The staff were all very friendly, and the check-out process was quick and easy. We definitely plan to return next time. It would be great if the dining menu could offer more variety, like Chinese, Vietnamese, or other cuisines. Highly recommended for families!

Worst honeymoon ever!! Me and my lover Dominic Buckley stayed here for our honey moon where we expected to have a wonderful time since of the money we spent ($3000), however this was quite the contrary. The staff were nothing but disrespectful and disregarded our simple wishes of towels and room service, the list goes on and on but this was the least me and hubby's worries. When me and Dominic were checking out after our horrific stay we were greeted of the news that our bags were lost lost containing our wedding rings and other important jewelry of ours, when asked about if they will end up returning our bags we were faced with half hearted excuses and ushered out of the building so were didn't make a "scene" Overall this is my worst experience in staying anywhere.
PS ill see you guys In court. And for anyone thinking of staying here take my word and don't come near this place.

Checked in few days back with my family and thanks to the ops manager at the check in counter, he kindly upgraded our room to pool facing as it was my son's bday and that was a kind gesture. Overall room was ok but does require slight touch up to meet the overall standard. Lots of activities for kids. Good options for food especially for vegetarians and the service at the penguin cafe for breaky was very good. Each staff was curtious and provided service with a smile. The continental buffet breakfast option was good with add ons options available. Overall a good experience and will explore this resort again in future. Thanks team

Second time staying at the paradise resort and both our stays have been amazing! I recommend to everyone to come and stay here. The kids had the best time and there was always something to do.
All activities were run so well with friendly and kind staff.
My daughter lost her tooth while we were there and they went beyond making it special for her.
The food was always delicious and well clean resort.
The kids are already asking to come back for the third time! We can’t wait to come back.

Paradise Resort is a fantastic place for kids, and we enjoyed our stay. The location is great, and there’s no shortage of activities to keep children entertained. The kids club and silent disco were the highlights for our kids who absolutely loved them

The main downside for us was the food at the restaurant. The vegetarian options were very limited, and the quality wasn’t great. For example, we ordered the vegetarian nachos for lunch one day and received nothing more than corn chips with sour cream, packet guacamole, and cheese sauce. No beans, salsa, or real cheese so was a bit disappointing. The continental buffet breakfast is super basic as well amd quite generic and bland but there were options to pay extra for hot cooked options but seemed a bit over priced

Another issue was that our room was never cleaned or towels changed unless we called to request it. On the days we didn’t call, no one came at all, so I’m not sure what happened there.

Overall, though, it’s a great resort for families with young children. It’s not really the place to go if you’re hoping to relax, the pools are quite small and get very crowded, and there’s constant noise and activity from morning to night. It honestly feels a bit like being inside an episode of Cocomelon but since we came for the kids and they had a great time, we were happy with that.

If the resort improved its food menu (with more variety and better quality) and added a few quiet or chill out areas for parents, it would make for a much better all round experience. There was some construction happening during our stay, and it looks like they’re building a new pool, so we’re keen to see how it turns out once completed.

Great family friendly resort. Very relaxed atmosphere, considering there were so many young children, the staff were so friendly and accommodating! So many activities for the kids they will not be bored for a minute. We stayed over Halloween and they did so many little activities, played music, had trick or treating through the resort and even a 'haunted' spooky train ride. The pool, spa and waterparks kept the kids and us as parents busy most of the day, but close location to the beach and Cavill Ave kept us busy the rest of our time. Our kids are a little older, if you had younger kids you really wouldn't need to leave the resort at all. They also have a good arcade, indoor & outdoor playgrounds, mini mart, and Kids Club. Our room in Captains Quarters was modern, clean and good location, negative was no vent in the bathroom so very steamy and wet when you showered, water would also run out of the shower. The only negatives of our stay, the food and drinks are expensive (you could bring alot of your own food, drinks & snacks but we didn't) and where our room was located was right near the pool and play area, so we had parents and kids being very loud until 10pm and from 6am in the morning each day. If you want peace and quiet don't book near there! Noise restrictions are from 10pm-7am so I guess nothing really wrong with it. Overall we had a great time and would definitely go again with friends or family to make it even better. So much better than just a normal hotel near the beach when you have kids. Hope this review helps!

100% recommend for anyone with kids Excellent location. Very family friendly with a holiday atmosphere. The rooms were a bit older but clean and very comfortable beds. I was a bit unsure about going as I do like luxury but for the grandkids and parents ( and grandparents) it was amazing. I'd definitely book again. Happy kids = happy parents. I look forward to our next visit

Noisy tired and chaotic My wife and I had two nights there with our Grandson staying in Astro Alley.
On first arrival it looks ok public areas are very busy as you would expect.
And the noise levels even in your room are high !
Kids running around the corridors knocking on guests doors and running away
And the noise in reception is relentless as the main climbing frame is next to reception and lines up nice with the area our room was in.
All you hear all day until late evening is screaming and shouting, sadly a lot of parents turn up tune out and let there kids run ragged. Often irresponsibly.
The room felt tired and lacked comfort.
Food service was ok but not great value and the service we received was poor.
Location wise it’s not a bad spot 5 minutes walk to beach and another ten down to main shops and Restaurant

I knew it was going to be a lively place as it’s a child orientated holiday location
Sadly it’s noisy tired and generally chaotic.
I have to say it’s not normally a place I would stay at even with small children,
But i went expecting it to be average and it did not disappoint sadly.
Great place if you want to let the kids run wild while you tune out and get some grog in you.
There is no where for an Adult to escape for an hour without children although there is a big board in reception telling you one is being built !

We have had the best time staying here! Honestly would highly recommend. The staff are so nice and there is so many great activities to do throughout the day. It accommodates to all ages and we could not fault this place one bit . The hospitality goes over and beyond and we have loved being apart of paradise resort. Our favourite staff is Johnny obviously being in the pool area most of the time. He is so great with the kiddies and adults aswell and is so funny! Love his personality. We will definitely come back for sure!

Horror express train ride was great value for money. Facilities were all good. You could easily spend a whole week just at the resort without leaving. Kids had a blast! Activities for kids were reasonably priced. Staff were all welcoming and friendly. Alot of good food options and even catered to our special requirements.
Astro King bunkhouse was great for our family of 5.

Rooms at captain quarters are unbelievably bad, old and outdated. The carpets/curtains were just gross. For the price we paid, we could have stayed at the Meriton or anywhere nicer and cleaner. We even found a cockroach in the room. There is no exhaust fan in the bathroom, it’s perpetually wet and yucky with little black moths everywhere and mould around the rim of the sink. There are no reminder signs about the hot water from the taps especially since this is a kids resort. The body wash was not topped up until we requested for it. The room lights are sooo dim, making the room incredibly dark at night. The aircon compressor on the balcony is so rusty. There is no life guards at the pool area, (again it’s a kids resort), even if it’s the parents responsibility to care for own kids, we feel life guards are still important. The pavers at the car park exit had no signs to indicate a narrow driveway out, it was just weirdly structured. Overall we regretted booking this resort, we couldn’t wait leave. It might be good for kids who may enjoy the activities but the place needs a complete revamp.

Fantastic resort for the kids. Plenty of activities and things to do. The pools were a little cool in September, some heating for the kids pools would be amazing and keep them in there longer…allowing the adults to spend more at the bar 🍻 The place was well run, the rooms comfortable and the staff excellent in a brilliant location. Thank you Paradise Resort!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel! The service was outstanding, and every staff member we met was friendly and helpful.

I especially want to praise Tangi, the front desk receptionist, who went above and beyond to assist us and make our stay pleasant after a mistake occurred with our booking. Thanks to her professionalism and kindness, everything was quickly resolved with a smile.

The hotel is perfect for families with children full of fun activities, great facilities, and engaging entertainment. The staff working with the kids were amazing, patient, and warm, and our children were on cloud nine throughout our stay!

Kids holiday As soon as you arrive it is seamless from checkin to activities for kids amazing. Staff very friendly and food onsite delicious for everyone even the picky eaters. Rooms were clean and not cramped in. Would Definately stay again.

Family Fun This was our second visit to Paradise Resort, and yet again it did not disappoint. Not only was there always something to do, but the staff were amazing too, always happy to help out. An extra special shout out to ALEX and JOHNNY from the entertainment team who did an amazing job and made us feel right at home with plenty of laughs, also not to forget FRENCH guy in the bar, what a legend (sorry I didn't get your name). You can also never go past the complementary kid's club session, giving mum and dad some well-deserved date time. We will definitely be back :-)

Avarage We stayed for 2 nights in Astro’s Alley at Paradise Resort Gold Coast. The resort is great for families. It is super kids friendly with lots of entertainment for kids and parents. The kids’ areas are clean, and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

But there are some downsides. The hallway in Astro’s Alley was smelly all the time. For a family of four, the room had a queen bed, one single bed, and another single bed that was very uncomfortable. You could feel the springs through the mattress, and it wasn’t even comfortable to sit on. Our booking included breakfast, but the buffet wasn’t self service. Staff served the food from behind the counter, so options were very limited. There was no hot food at all, which is disappointing for a resort. If you wanted something simple like eggs, you had to pay extra.

Around 5 to 6 in the afternoon, there were no staff around the pool. Kids were running everywhere with no supervision, and people were drinking right next to the pool while kids were playing, and no one seemed to monitor it.

Overall, it’s fun for kids but needs better management and facilities.

Kids club is now one session per day; activities reduced; We have stayed for several years in a row always utilising and enjoying the many kids club options available. However when we arrived for our most recent trip, with absolutely no notice, we discovered that kids club had a serious downgrade to one session per day - being run by activity staff. This meant that our plans to attend the supercars without kids were completely ruined, and we found that kids club was only offered at inconvenient times, such as a 10 am session for the day. The activities out in the pool area were also running on skeleton staff. We were disappointed to find the dunk tank in pieces left next to the stairs Not in use.
We did the same trivia we have done for the past four years - is it so difficult to find a new Kahoot!? The carousel not running; the adults area still under construction (that’s four years now). We pay top dollar for this resort year after year, and ignore the quality? Of the room and uncomfortable beds, so that the kids can experience all the extras. This year it seems that is all gone and it’s such a shame.

Paradise Resort is incredible! Super kid friendly, amazing staff and customer service! Huge shout out to Tia the reservations manager! She deserves staff member of the month. Everyone is just so kind, so much to do and no reason to leave the resort!

Horrible !! Unfortunately it was not a great experience for us. We were in the Captains Quarters, facing the waterpark (worst ever!).
We had a 2 room on the 3rd floor. It was so run down!! We paid over $2600 for 4 nights, family of 4 and it was absolutely not worth it.

Our back door could barely be moved to open to our balcony it was so heavy and worn out, no fans, no exhaust fan in the bathroom either which made all the towels in a constant state of yuck, the tv remote in the second bedroom was taped up with electrical tape over the batteries and it could only turn on/off by the powerpoint, dust all over the curtains, not even a toilet brush or something to clean the toilet, carpet was gross, door handle to the bedroom was broken and the door barely shut, the noise from the pool area every single night from either a movie or music was horrible!! From 6:45pm-9:30pm it literally was like a nightclub inside our room and none of us got to sleep until 10pm every night (kids are 6 and 2.5, it was a nightmare!), couldn’t just relax before bed because it was so loud it sounded as though it was in our room, toilet paper holder was broken, they literally came in and cleaned and made the beds and took the rubbish ONCE and then never again. We never got to use the pool and waterpark because it was so packed or “reserved” there was no where to sit, you had the PAY to use the train, build a bear, etc (after paying that much for a room I’d like to think even a simple train ride would be included but nope!), the food from the restaurants there was horrible and expensive!!

We were meant to check out Tuesday September 16th, but we checked out Monday morning (the 15th) as we were all just over it and tired from no sleep from all the noise. When I let them know at the front desk that we were checking out a day earlier then we paid, the girl at the front desk said “ ok, I need your room cards. Have a great day!”.
That’s it. Didn’t get asked why, didn’t get asked if everything was alright with our stay.. nothing. No offer of a refund for leaving early (never expected them to offer but still..).

I advise against staying there!
Not worth it.

Stay somewhere else and go use the water park somewhere else!

If you have kids, this is the place. Paradise Resort exceeded all expectations from the moment we arrived. The atmosphere is vibrant yet relaxing, making it the perfect getaway for families, couples, or anyone looking to recharge. The staff are warm, attentive, and go above and beyond to ensure every guest feels welcome.

The facilities are outstanding with beautifully maintained pools, exciting kids’ activities, and plenty of entertainment for all ages. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable, with thoughtful touches that make the stay even more enjoyable. Dining was a highlight, with fresh and delicious options that catered to every taste.

What really stood out was the sense of fun and relaxation blended together. Whether it was lounging by the pool, joining in family games, or simply enjoying the peaceful surroundings, every day felt special.

The rooms while convenient and spacious are dated and with lots of step hazards! Lots of un-even door trims and steps for both adults and children to easily trip over… in saying that… the staff and service are absolutely amazing and I couldn’t fault them! Beautiful, friendly entertainment staff, food is always quick!

5 Night stay including Dreamworld and sky lounge pass…..
This hotel is probably the closest thing kids will get to a P&O cruise on land. Everything you need is here: a large pool area where you can relax with a bar drink from your sun lounge while watching the kids play safely in an enclosed space, plus food options and a kids club.

The rooms are neat and practical rather than glamorous, but the shower pressure is excellent. It’s about a 20-minute walk from Surfers. Dining choices are limited to the on-site restaurant, a pizza place, and a Mexican spot.

My five-year-old had an absolute blast, which made the stay well worth it.

A great time again! We had such a great family getaway at Paradise Resort! The weather was perfect for the entirety of our stay so thanks for turning that on for us! We had a family room in Astro’s Alley which was again a good set up! The food is fine, very akin to pub grub across the board so that’s all good! The activities were great - shame the dunk tank is gone!

Very exciting to see the progress on the long awaited parents retreat - very much looking forward to a visit there upon completion!

A massive shout out to Italo and Caddie .. our kids,absolutely adore them! They went above and beyond to make the kids feel special, and their warmth really made our holiday.

The entertainment crew Johnny, Max, Till, Grace and Jess were also fantastic. The kids warmed to them straight away and had so much fun joining in their activities.

We have already booked for our next adventure in April!

Absolutely love staying here with the kids, book through the resort and you get a free kids club pass! Which was great for a quick little kid free break yet they still get to enjoy to fun! I few things I would suggest that could have made it a little better would be having ventilation fans in the bathrooms, heaters in the pool area/ eating area for parents and other guests who may not be in the pools running around as it gets quite fresh quite quickly in the chillier months due to the sun disappearing behind buildings: over all it’s a very kid friendly fun place to stay! Especially with the tram just one street away we were able to go on adventures without dragging the kiddies to far

We had the best time. Staff were all super friendly and helpful. Kids had so much fun at kids club, baking and cooking, making teddy bears and playing kahoot and the waterpark. The early check in and super late check out was absolutely awesome, meant more time for fun. Delicious food and the room was fantastic, great location and so happy we decided on a larger room this time. Kids club is great. We had a date, while the kids were having supervised fun and making new friends. We didn’t want to leave.

Greta mini break! We went for a 3 night mini break with our three kids and we had a great time. The kids loved the water park, the slime making, they made their own bears and Vini made the carousel and train ride extra fun. The food was great, especially the loaded fries, chicken tenders and quite a good continental breakfast. The only negative was a few badly behaved kids splashing adults but their parents are to blame there. excellent trip and will be back!

We recently stayed at Paradise Resort with our four young kids (all under the age of five), and it truly exceeded every expectation!

From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. A huge shoutout to Lucas and Rafael from the hospitality team – their service was exceptional and really made us feel taken care of. They went above and beyond to ensure every meal and moment was enjoyable.

The food was fantastic with so many options to please even the fussiest little eaters (and the tired parents too!). Between the buffet, cafes, and snacks by the pool, we were spoiled for choice.

The entertainment was nonstop and perfectly tailored for families – from water play areas to kids’ activities and shows, there was never a dull moment. Our little ones had the time of their lives, and we loved seeing them so engaged and happy.

We stayed in Dusty’s Deluxe Digs, and it couldn’t have been more ideal for our family of six. The room was spacious, clean, and well thought out for families travelling with young children.

We genuinely couldn’t recommend Paradise Resort more highly. It’s a place where both kids and parents get to relax and have fun. We’re already planning our next visit!

July 2025 holiday Our family had 4 rooms at Paradise Resort from 28/06/2025 until 04/07/2025.

Room 3225 urgently requires a new mattrass on the double bed. The current mattrass is old and extremely bumpy. I could not sleep due to all of the springs poking me all over my body. Worst of all, imagine being dead tired on your first night and finding pubic hair in your bed when you just want to sleep. The room had a strong bleach smell. The drains also need decent cleaning. When using the shower - bubbles would come out of the floor drain in the bathroom.

Room 1302 smells strongly of urine - the room is unlivable with this smell.

The seating area at the reception play area also smells strongly of urine.

The food was average. The toasters are either warmers or incenerators at best. You either get warm bread, or charcoal toast.

Entertainment for kids was good. The kids enjoyed the pools.

The ice skating was only available once, and did not have enough space for all of our kids. This was disappointing.

We were fortunate to do activities outside of this resort most of the days but at the end of the day you want a clean, comfortable bed and a clean room for a comfortable nights' rest.

Absolutely Terrible Unfortunately, our stay at the resort was quite disappointing. The facilities were extremely dated and in need of refurbishment. The layout felt overly compact—amenities like the pool, water slides, playground, and rooms were all tightly clustered together, which made the environment feel crowded and far from relaxing.

Noise was a major issue. The walls were very thin, and we could hear everything from the neighboring rooms. Additionally, all the rooms faced either the main road or the pool area, both of which were consistently loud, making it hard to unwind.

Cleanliness also left much to be desired. Our toilet had an unpleasant odor despite being "cleaned" daily, and there were visible smudges around it. The lobby had a strong, unpleasant scent reminiscent of a daycare—unfortunately, not in a comforting way.

The on-site dining options were underwhelming. The food was basic and generally poor in quality. Although the resort advertises a wide range of kids’ activities, they were often booked out quickly, making it hard to participate—especially if visiting with a group.

The kids’ club was located in a dim, underground space with very limited natural light or outdoor access, which felt uninspiring and uninviting for children.

If it weren’t for the fact that we were staying with friends, we would have checked out early and looked for alternative accommodation—it was that disappointing.

We had the best time there! So great for families. The rooms were clean and spacious. The staff were all very friendly. The daily activities was the best part the kids and adults were kept entertained all day, the adults loved playing bingo and trivia while the kids enjoyed the water park. There are a lot of extra expenses like ice skating, laser tag but the kids didn’t need to do them as they were busy enough. Water park and pool was heated enough for them to enjoy in May.

Our stay was honestly wonderful. We initially had booked for a week but later extended a few more nights.
We stayed in a superior room with the two queen beds which was perfect for our little family ( toddler and infant). Our room happened to be facing the large waterpark - we didn’t find it to be loud or anything. The pool closed around 9pm so everyone else was in there rooms. It was quiet and tranquil.

There are so many activities in the actual resort that you don’t have to leave if you don’t want to, Including the water parks, pool, spa, indoor and outdoor playgrounds plus all the activities they host during the day.

The restaurant onsite is nice if you don’t want to go out to eat. Catching an uber or walking is super easy and convienent. We did drive and paid for parking at the resort.

I can’t fault this resort, it really is perfect for the kids and the parents. The days that we just spent at the resort were the most relaxing for us.

Great time! 5-Star Review for Paradise Resort – A Fun-Filled Family Escape!

We had such a fantastic time at Paradise Resort – it truly lived up to its name! From the moment we arrived, the energy was upbeat, family-friendly, and full of excitement. The Family Room was a standout – nicely updated, spotlessly clean (huge thanks to the housekeeping team!), and we especially loved the air conditioning in the second room, which made all the difference for a comfortable stay.

The activities available for kids and “kidults” alike are next level – there’s always something happening, and it really helps keep the whole family entertained without ever needing to leave the resort. From water play to games and themed events, there’s something for everyone, and the vibe is just pure fun!

A huge shoutout to some of the amazing staff who really made our stay extra special – Italo, Hannah, Caddie, and Winnie from the Entertainment Crew were simply incredible with the kids. Their energy, kindness, and ability to make each child feel seen and involved was truly heartwarming. The whole team across the resort was helpful and friendly – a real credit to the Paradise Resort crew.

The only area that let the experience down slightly was the food and beverage side – while the meals themselves were tasty, there were a few hiccups with incorrect orders and needing to chase things up more than once. That said, it didn’t overshadow the overall experience, and we’re hopeful this is something that will improve.

We’re already planning our next visit – and fingers crossed the long-awaited Adults Retreat is up and running by then. What a perfect addition that would be to an already amazing family getaway!

Can’t recommend Paradise Resort enough for families looking for fun, relaxation, and quality time together. See you again soon!

Surfers paradise hotel apartments We had a 2 bedroom apt , full ocean view , full kitchen, right on the beach. All the amenities of hotel but we had a apt. Too cook. Any thing we needed we would call the front desk and they would deliver. The beat beach right in front of hotel. Great king size beds with great linens.

Old mouldy and expensive If I could pick 0 stars I would. $350 per night for old rooms, no air conditioning in the main bedroom, only 1 tv worked, the list goes on. The spa was jam packed and looked unsanitary. You shouldn’t have to slum it having toddlers for this exorbitant price. Going to a better hotel for the money and visiting a water park would be money better spent! Never again.

Not as good as last trip, but pleasant. We come to Gold Coast atleast once a year to visit family but until now we’ve never stayed in the same hotel. We stayed at paradise resort last year and were so impressed we booked again for this year. I was a bit disappointed with this trip. Last year we booked a package through Jetstar and stayed in the recently updated ‘Dusty’s digs’ this year ‘captains quarters’. It felt much less of an experience this time around.
The room its self is ok, but was missing basic things that could have made a big difference, extra towel hooks, more shelving, a floor lamp or extra lighting, a toaster, cutlery etc. The beds are high and have hard grounds (last year my 3yo fell out hit head head and had a concussion, vomited for a couple days during our stay, not resorts fault but just be pre warned to hire a bed rail, or we used a pool noodle under the fitted sheet). Good aircon, good TV, microwave and fridge is great. Great they have a toddler step in the bathroom. Good size room. Comfy beds. Good positioned power points.

This section of the resort is due for upgrades and our balcony was so unpleasant we avoided it. There was also rotten wood in our room that had just been painted over.
We are in room 3301 and the light from a nearby hallway was shining into our window all night meant our 1 year old was constantly waking up thinking it was morning. We didn’t have one decent night sleep during our stay.

Last year they put a program on our bathroom mirror of all the daily activities, which was really awesome. Didn’t have that time around and was more difficult to find out what was happening. It was nice last year to huddle around the program and talk about what we could do as a family.

The daily activities are so fun and we all enjoyed them!
The ice skating, train ride, carousel rides were impossible to get into. Not enough session times available.

Pool area was great but the pool is too cold, all the kids would huddle in the spa. No pool towels, so BYO.

The food was good, even had good gluten free options including burger and pizza.

They are updating a lot of the resort. Adults area is coming, I was expecting it finished this visit but the site looks unchanged since our last stay in May 2024. The Reno’s were not disruptive to our stay at all though.

Staff are all very lovely, Jio was fantastic with the rock climbing, and Mango made slime making so fun.

This sounds all very negative Nancy, I’m just dissapointed compared to last years visit. Would possibly consider booking again next year but would make sure it’s in an updated section of the resort.

Mixed feelings I think if my nearly 3yo daughter could rate this stay, she would probably rate it a 5 out of 5, but I gave it a 3 from a parent perspective.

Pros
Easy booking process and super friendly booking staff who accommodated a last minute date change due to bad weather.

Easy check in and helpful friendly staff.

We got one of the recently renovated rooms and were really happy with the room itself with nice touches like complimentary snacks on arrival and a colour changing neon light the little one loved.

The water park slides although fairly basic, were great and definitely a highlight and suitable for all ages.

The activities we chose for our 3yo included carousel and train ride, slime making, pamper parlour, silent/ glow disco, ice skating and kids club. These were all worthwhile and enjoyed with the exception of the kids club which unfortunately our little one didn’t seem to take to.

The trivia and free kids shows were really well done.

The staff are generally really great with the entertainment staff going above and beyond to make you (and the kids) feel welcome and have a good time.

The on-site pizzas and cocktails were good.

We had the daily continental breakfast and it was good enough for us without being exceptional.

Housekeeping were great with some nice touches for the kids.

Parking was easy and secure (although at an extra charge).

Cons

The general feel of the park is that it is a little dated, however we did have a renovated room which was great and they are clearly in the process of updating the rest of the park which is good, however it did leave us with a view of a construction site from our balcony.

I think the general playgrounds for the kids could be bigger and better for a kids resort.

The on-site Mexican food was a bit ordinary. The burgers not too bad but stale buns. The quality of the penguins restaurant food was ok, however it was expensive for the quality and each course came out before you could finish the previous one. Penguins restaurant is not suitable for a brief mum and dad quiet dinner/ break from the little ones as everyone else brings their kids in. To the credit of the resort, I believe an adults only escape is currently under construction.

As expected, the park was a little too busy on weekends, however if you choose weekdays to visit instead, you will miss some of the best activities and shows.

The ice rink needs some updating and maintenance and was a little underwhelming.

Overall
Yes it is worth coming for the kids as they will love it. Was it great value for money? Probably not quite enough for us to come back again, but in saying that, we adults did enjoy watching our little one have a ball. The only advice I would give a family thinking of going with a solo child would be to try and bring them a friend or ideally another family so they can share the experience.

I would also advise to pay a touch extra for a room with a microwave, plates, cutlery and fridge etc so that you can bring some meals from home to heat up/ make so that you don’t have to eat resort food all the time and have the bonus of saving some dollars!

Disappointing Disappointing. Their marketing team have done a great job with the pictures, don’t be fooled by them! I feel ripped off.

The price we paid for 5 nights was $2010. Rooms were very dated, dirty and smelt. There is tea and coffee making facilities in your room but nothing else. No bowls or anything to make cereal or toast. To fill up the kettle in your room you have to fill in the bathroom sink, very unhygienic. We were in a room the balcony faced the hotel entrance and the main road so very noisy. Hallways at night have kids running around screaming, don’t know where the parents were.

Food at the on site cafe/restaurant is basic, tasteless and over priced. Read one response from staff regarding the food and say their pricing is on par with local restaurants/cafes - yes it is, but the standard of food is not the same. Ordered for garlic creamy prawn pasta one night it was so gluggy and tasteless. Ordered the Aussie burger next night. Description read chargrilled Angus beef. There was no chargrilled and highly doubt it was Angus beef. It was a store brought frozen patty. No healthy options for food. The amount of guests doing grocery runs and ordering uber eats should be an indicator to the hotel that they need to sort out the food situation.

The pool area is so over crowded. No room to play in the lagoon pool, spa had at least 20 people in it at a time sometimes up to 40. No lifeguard. Parents letting their kids run wild not paying attention. Kids bombing into the pool no care for whom they might hit. Food floating in the pool. Chewing gum and food all around the pool area. Constant smell of urine. They have 1-2 staff members monitoring the pool area, they need more for the amount of people using the space.

They do a lot to keep kids entertained which is great and the staff were very friendly. Have to pay extra for ice skating, rock climbing and laser tag. Which is fine but over priced for the time you get and only have a few times scheduled to do extra activities.

I understand they are doing upgrades to the rooms, but for what you get they need to seriously drop the price. It’s a family hotel so would highly recommend a few basics for making snacks ect in the rooms.

Don’t understand why they are making an adults only pool area when there is not enough space for the kids in the existing pool area.

Please don’t just respond with your basic answer that you are disappointed to read this review and will pass on the feedback to the relevant departments. Let people know what you are doing to fix these issues as these are common complaints with your hotel.

Paradise for kids, not so for parents. We spent a week at Paradise Resort in mid December and overall, we were not particularly impressed with the place. When we eventually checked in and went to our room (a junior bunkhouse) we found it to be a lot smaller and ill equipped than anticipated. Issues we had during our week were;
*very few power points in the room, and I mean very few!
The kettle was tiny and cheap.
The minimal amount of crockery was all children’s style plastic glasses, plates and bowels.
The hot water pipes in the kitchen screamed with noise when used.
The hot water tap in the bathroom was screwed down so tight it was barely useable even for adults.
**THE HOT WATER SYSTEM IS NOT SAEFTY SET (50c and below) AND IS THAT HOT THAT IT CAN CAUSE SERIOUS SCALDING.
The water pipes on the bathroom are noisy and have a high pitched scream when used.
When the adjoining rooms use their shower, all the water pipes screamed throughout our room as well, so loud we couldn’t hear our TV.
The bathroom vent was filthy.
Very little storage in the room (one small wardrobe with two adjoining drawers.
No bedside tables as such, just a wooden board fitted to the wall on either side of the bed. (Only one side has power).
The air conditioning unit was filthy inside with black mould clearly visible inside the vents. The unit also dripped condensation onto the carpet below it.
The balcony area (3rd floor) was a worry. The concrete was cracking and the wooden hand rails were rotting.
The AC unit and other fittings were rusted.
The TV reception usually went pear shaped around 7.30pm.
The bunk area had one wall mounted fan which was rather noisy (After the initial one didn’t work and was replaced).
We had the quietest area of the hotel and even that was noisy until very late at night.
Prices for food and drinks are ridiculously high. $22 for a smallish pizza and as they only accept cards (no cash is accepted) you’re also hit with a card surcharge fee.

The only saving grace for our child was the water parks, which he thoroughly enjoyed.

Overall, I wouldn’t recommend the place as it’s run down, seriously outdated and needs a big overhaul. I wouldn’t recommend any room facing the pool area if you like even a little quiet time during the day. Our room was 3rd floor facing away from the pool towards Birt Ave and even that wasn’t exactly quiet.

Staff were very friendly, helpful and did their best, but the outdated, dilapidated nature of the resort and the under resourced (rooms) along with the excessive prices ($2,620 for a week) were just too much.
