Explore seven premier locations in Tasmania’s Coal River Valley, including the Riverdale Estate, Coal Valley Vineyard, and Pooley’s Vineyard. In addition to wine tasting, enjoy local produce tastings at various stops, showcasing the region’s reputation as a food bowl. Our tours offer a perfect blend of Tasmania’s colonial history in Richmond and its thriving culinary scene.
Enjoy the freedom to explore various locations at your own pace, with hourly pickups and the option for longer stays, such as a 2-hour lunch break, we are ensuring a stress-free experience before returning to Hobart in the late afternoon. We are committed to providing a safe and enjoyable experience, allowing you to sit back, relax, and indulge in all that the Coal River region has to offer.
Our system allows for a total of 4 stops throughout the day. Most venues allow a little over an hour to be spent at each. To maximise your experience, we recommend you visit venues in the same order as the timetable is shown. The last column of times provides you with the last pickup time for each venue, or time in bold.
It’s more than just a wine tour – it’s a journey through the heart of Hobart’s wine country, offering a perfect blend of freedom, flavour, and fun.
* T&C’s – Pre bookings at Pooley Wines and Uplands Vineyard are ESSENTIAL for tastings and lunches. We also highly recommend you pre-book your lunch at any winery to avoid disappointment. All groups over 4/6 pax must pre-book for both tastings and lunch. Please base your timings on our timetable.
* LOCALS ONLY – use the promo LOCALS for $77 PP – Please provide your driver’s licence details or evidence of residence on the online waiver once you have booked. Please note this will be checked.

The stops were perfect, the company amazing (self-supplied), the vibes were immaculate.
Jason did a fabulous job and to top it off, we all want to buy a bucket hat just like his. Fashion qaween.
Thank you so much for this amazing day xx
We pay $15 at each winery and after six wineries the price is exorbitant
The only downside was that a bit more information upfront would have been helpful — specifically which wineries the tour stops at and where guests should make bookings for tastings and lunch. Once you’re on board it all works out, but clearer guidance beforehand would make the experience even smoother.
Overall, a really fun day and a great option for wine lovers who don’t want to rush.
Being able to enjoy the wine without worrying about driving made the day even better. Such a fun, easy and social way to explore the area.
Had a great time! Thanks a lot Bill!
If you like a tour where everything is organised for you and you don’t have to do much thinking then this might not be the one for you.
We are locals and love hitting our Richmond wineries but unfortunately someone always has to do the driving duties.
Not with the Wine Hopper!
We visited 4 wineries starting with Craigow as we hadn’t visited before. What awn experience, Barry the host was amazing sitting with us telling use stories about his beautiful wines.
Definitely worth stopping here. The next stop Riversdale Estate, live music great venue and some great wines, every man, Pooleys and a quick visit to Richmond to finish the day.
We had a great bunch of people on the bus who all got on so well, probably thanks to Alex our driver who was informative, friendly and funny who also played us some great tunes to sing to.
I would definitely recommend this as a tourist or a local to visit our local beautiful vineyards. Thanks guys for an amazing day! We will be back soon with more friends.
An excellent day which was well co-ordinated, with great communication from Tassie Tours. Alex went out of his way to make sure our experience was seamless and exactly how we wanted the day to run. Thanks to all .
Timings on the schedule were accurate, and we also had a friendly, knowledgeable driver which made the experience even better would highly recommend!
