It was amazing the food was great and it was such a good experience over allThe venue is stunning, a perfect location for both ceremony and reception, as well as multiple photo locations.
Every single staff member at the wedding was friendly and super attentive, making for such a special night. Special mention to Anton, our personal server on the day who went above and beyond to care for us. You were a highlight of our night and we cannot thank you enough for the small things you did to look after us and ensure we had everything we wanted.
Highly recommend.
Lost its polish. Great venue good food but why is it always poor service. Really make you feel like you’re intruding. The main bar shows no interest in serving. Always busy doing trivial task .The food was good, but a complete order stuff up, after confirmation was only saved as a second choice. Do I really want to go back , ummmm. The food was delicious, with the buffalo pizza topped with prosciutto being a standout, genuinely amazing and highly recommend.
The access to the river is a huge bonus too; the floating jetty was fantastic and made the whole experience feel extra special.
Landscape around the venue was beautifully maintained.
Will definitely be back!
We ended up with other people's food after saying it was not ours. It was on out table for two minutes before being removed and taken to the table the had placed the order.
I'm sure the does not meet food safety standards?
Our friends son had a fall while going down to the river, it was due to the stairs not being maintained. I reported the incident and have heard nothing from Mandoon. We also couldn't get first aid support.
Other maintenance issues, pot pole on the main access road as well as the speed humps now blending in to the road. Upside of you speed you'll know when you hit one.
The food was OK.
The actual venue is lovely with lots of seating choices inside and out.
Live music was also great.
With a little more care Mandoon Estate would be 5 out of 5, it's just not at this time.
The event coordinators were incredible. The venue itself can accommodate everything from a formal sit-down reception to a relaxed garden party, with contingencies ready just in case. Having Maya Maya accommodation onsite was perfect for the wedding party and guests. The food and drinks were faultless, and the service — from meal and bar staff to the coordinators liaising with suppliers — made the entire day seamless from getting ready, to ceremony, to reception, and even afterwards.
We genuinely hope other couples get to experience such a stress-free wedding. You’re able to be truly present and enjoy your day — and that is priceless.
We had the five course tasting menu with complimenting wine with each course.Absolutely delicious food and wine excellently matched together, service was first class.
Fabulous setting a must do if you’re in the area.
Unfortunately, the staff left a lot to be desired — they were rude and a bit off, which definitely affected the experience. Great food and drinks, but the service needs improvement.
Beautiful atmosphere with a nice view of the winery. Outdoor and indoor seating arrangements. The restaurant is nicely decorated and classy. There are more restaurants outside garden as well.
Food
Food is excellent, specially the garlic bread is so nice. There and many menu options to choose from. Also bear tasting platters and great wine from the region.
Service
Good service but could be better with more friendliness.
Overall
Beautiful location and the area is covered with wineries. Great wine and good. One of my favourite wineries.
My partner and I attended for the Wine Blending Course. It was just the two of us with the delightful and friendly Antonella. (Hopefully I spelt that right)
It was a fun, relaxed afternoon.
Highly recommended.
The venue was magical and we are thrilled that we chose Mandoon for our special day.
The food and wine was phenomenal. We had to fight our kids who were trying to steal our portions of the canapes that were held aside for us. The portions for the entree and mains were much bigger than we anticipated and they were all incredible.
The service was impeccable and the staff should be commended on their skills and hospitality shown to us and our guests.
All of our guests had an amazing time and made comments throughout the night and afterwards, complementing how good the food, wine and service was and we could not agree more.
Over from the UK, visiting family, we always call in on the family boat and spend quite a bit of money there. The girl behind the wine tasting counter was downright rude, seemed to take an instant dislike to us, I have no explanation as to why?
The whole experience was embarrassing, and we voted with our feet and walked out, went next door to Sandleford Wines, and that's how to do first impressions. What a difference. The end result was purchased six bottles of wine. Next year we are going straight to Lancaster. I don't know if it's bad management at Mandoon filtering down to the staff, or we were just unlucky with getting someone who was having a bad day at the office? Either way sort out customer service, first impressions pay dividends.
Mandoon Estate, Swan Valley, Western Australia: Mandoon Estate is the quintessential sophisticated wine stop that scores points on all fronts from good bar grub food, to palatable wines to a grand view of the vineyards while you feast on your food. Bar grub pulled off in the classiest way, this is such a lovely must-stop if you’ve got Swan Valley on your wine trail. #eatstylishtravelstylish
We had dinner there and stayed the night. There were 8 of us I had booked 3 rooms
The manager at the reception was so rude! She had called me up later that day accusing me of taking alcohol from the mini bar and leaving the room in a mess! Which was totally untrue!!
The dinner was disgusting and the service was terrible!
I would never go there again or stay there
Her attention to detail and willingness to assist with every little query made all the difference. On the day, everything ran smoothly, and we were able to enjoy every moment stress-free, thanks to Megan and the fantastic team at Mandoon Estate.
Our guests couldn’t stop raving about the wait staff and their exceptional service. They were attentive, professional, and ensured everyone felt looked after, adding to the incredible atmosphere of the day.
We highly recommend Mandoon Estate to anyone looking for a stunning venue with an outstanding team. Thank you for making our wedding day truly unforgettable!
– Mikayla & Tim
We were absolutely amazed at the level of service, care and detail the team at Mandoon Estate has taken to help organise our wedding. Specifically, we have dealt with Megan and she has shown a level of hospitality like no other and personally, we hope others can see how much above and beyond she is in helping others plan their wedding.
A few things Mandoon did that really blew us away:
- Extremely timely and open communication - Always being responsive to our emails and questions even though it is months away from the wedding and also always setting expectations. Also, the staff are open listeners and really listens to our ideas without judgement
- Planning was top notch, there were a few things where we felt like both Megan and her team planned very well. For example, organising a van transfer from the hotel to the venue without us even asking and saving a plate of our canapes etc! Extremely thoughtful!
- Level of care - For our wedding, we had to translate our menus to Vietnamese as some of our guests were not native English speakers and Megan went above and beyond and actually provided us written translations for the food. We were really really touched by this gesture and it made us feel very welcomed.
Overall, the team was VERY professional and if we could do our wedding all over again, we wouldn't change a thing because of Megan and her team at Mandoon. :)
d'Vine Wine Tour's Lunch Stop We had a fabulous time at Mandoon Estate as part of d'Vine Wine Tours' experience. The wine tasting area was nice airconditioned, plenty of room to enjoy the beverages and peruse the gift shop at the same time. The wines were fun to try and though the hostess was very informative, she didn't give off a particularly welcoming or pleasing vibe. It seemed a little rushed and money hungry as compared to other companies. We moved onto the restaurant area to enjoy a delicious lunch which was superb. The Meatlovers Pizza I ordered was amazing, delicious and huge size to soak up all the wine I had had by this time. I also loved how the waitress was able to light a little candle our tour guide Ron found for us so that my fiancé and I could complete our Adventure Challenge we had set for the day. I really, really enjoyed that part and look forward to having the time to take a stroll in the art gallery section of the venue.
Enjoyable A lovely evening sat on the veranda overlooking the vines. A good choice of beer and wine which were all reasonably priced. I had the burger and my partner had the fish. Both enjoyed our meals. Service was timely and polite.
Exceptional experience at Mandoon. We were a large table celebrating a birthday. Elegant dining area, we had a table well away from others. Explanation of wine choices was very good. Food was interesting, innovative and thoroughly delicious. The menu was explained well by waitstaff. Waitstaff were the cream on the top, attentive but not intrusive . This was a table of reasonably 'picky' guests who all agreed it was an exceptional lunch...it was Sunday, the whole place was packed so well done to your restaurant team. 5 *****
complete disappointment and waste of money No table service to take your order, have to use the app on phone so no discussing food.No table water offered at all. Five meals that were ordered were well below Mandoons quality of past so can only suggest new owners or apprentice cooks, with three meals that turned up and another two were twenty minutes after and were cold. We had fish this was one of the late ones, a chicken salad with chicken being hard and smothered in mayo (unedible) pity I did not take photos At no stage did anyone enquire about how the meals were and two hours after we were finished the dirty plates were still sitting on the table and we had to ask them to be taken away in fact most of the tables around us were the same. I don't know who was in charge on the day Saturday the 7th but please either do your job or seek other emplyment because this was a complete let down. I have in the past recommended this establishment but in all honesty would not do again based on what we were offerd today.
They have stopped trying Something has really gone off here. In the last 13yrs we have enjoyed going to Mandoon…. Our go to , being in Perthills, but food & service has become non existent here. Staff have been replaced by the QR scan, they no longer acknowledge your presence, check on you or the patriotic Thank you as you leave- embarrassing. The servings have been halved , but not the price 😊The menu looks like it’s been revamped, but it’s the items which have been moved around. The lobster that had been there for years finally went 🙆♀️.We reckon we would get a better atmosphere & experience walking down to the local tarven. C’mon Mandoon , we have seen you at your best , reel us back in.The sheer size of the estate offers a variety of options:
Chalet stays
Playground
Walk around
Pictures views by the river
Event space both indoor and outdoor
Wine tasting
Restaurant
I took pictures of the food and beverages from the restaurant and not the facilities. Honestly, you need to come by and see the place. Pictures won’t do any justice.
Service:
Well trained service crew. Professional, welcoming, polite and interactive team.
Ambience:
Calming, soothing and tranquil. Well designed and welcoming.
Food and Beverages:
Quality curations.
Try the ginger beer and the cider. You won’t be able to get the cider outside of the estate. Lovely and quenching.
Wine Tasting:
Well trained team with amazing service. The options are beautiful. Never an error to have Mandoon wines.
Every year when I get back to Perth Mandoon Estate is a must for lunch or dinner amazing.
Thank you Team Mandoon Estate!
Friendly, Welcoming Service We arrived to sample some wines. Fabulous, warm service from the minute we entered to when we departed. Lovely relaxing afternoon with some good quality wines. If you are looking for an accessible friendly place to taste some quality wines, this is your place!
Homestead brewery A beautiful setting for lunch. You can eat and enjoy the view of the grape vines. Just a pity the music was extremely loud. The staff are friendly and helpful. Food was delicious for the majority of my family. I found the chicken salad a bit bland. Garlic cheesy bread was to die for. Be aware though it is topped with chilli. Overall a very nice meal.
A beautiful autumn outing We went for a work organised function Staff were very polite and efficient. It’s a busy venue with ample space for children to play. The whole estate is extremely well looked after and am so lucky to have visited. The hands-on blending session began with a cool sparkling white welcome 😋. The whole experience was about 90 minutes. Took home a souvenir of my own blend & labelled 750 ml bottle 😁
About 25 mins taxi ride from Elizabeth Quay area. Also easy to call for taxi here to go back.
I would probably just get a coffee from the restaurant in a takeaway cup, bring a picnic blanket and read a book. If someone'e driving I might even buy a whole bottle and finish it the same day, to the detriment of my reading. You can spend the whole day here and it wouldn't be a wasted day.
Dont bother We had an interstate visitor last Wednesday and ate at the Homestead Brewery. Extremely disappointed and embarrassed to take an interstate visitor there. The menu was sadly deficient with the only steak on there a Wagyu rump. This came with some mash and indescribable green vegetable. We wanted chips and salad with the steak. We also ordered an entrée and asked for them to come some time apart to allow us to eat our entrée. All the meals came together entrée and main. The steak still had the sloppy mash and greens with it and the chips and salad came separately. The steak was probably one of the most tasteless steaks I have ever eaten. It was cooked with no seasoning or salt and was very bland. Very disappointing and unlikely to ever return. Thought you should have the feedback.Delicious tropical punch mocktail. QR code on table makes it easy to order. Food and drinks came out quickly.
We did go on a 43° day evening, it was a bit warm in there with a few flies but other than that, can’t complain! ????
Good wines / less small winery feel Lovely visit and tasting, but this felt a little big and less personal. The site has wine, beer, dining, accommodations, and a conference center. The staff in tasting room was knowledgeable and friendly, but they were specifically there for tasting, so less of a glimpse into the process. While not large by worldwide terms, it does feel bigger than other wineries in the region. Aside for the tasting arrangements, the wines are nice and staff great.
Lovely spot in Swan Valley Lovely lunch & nice wine. Part of our Swan River wine tasting tour. Seems very popular. Nice wines and a lovely gift shop.i recommend a visit!
Great place to visit. Had some friends from Interstate who were most impressed with the whole setup. We initially could not get a table, so they pointed out the outdoor bar where we had an enjoyable drink. This is a great place to bring young kids. In 30 minutes, our table was ready, and the meal and service was great. Look forward to returning mid week to take advantage of the special priced meals.
Impressive and enjoyable way to spend a few hours in WA. Their wine tasting & food pairing offering is great value for money and a fantastic experience. The tasting wines on offer were excellent, the wider range of wines available for purchase are great. The two female Someliers who hosted us were knowledgable and very attentive, great customer service. While quite a large and commercial set-up compared to some more boutique family-run estates, the Mandoon experience was none-the-less very enjoyable. Can't wait to sample the wines taken away.
Function centre at restaurant prices. The complex is great with choices of dining location and on the Saturday lunch time was very busy. We were sat promptly and had a choice of table code or bar order, but due to slow internet we chose bar order. Drinks were premix type cocktails (sad) or selection of beer or estate wine. Food arrived suspiciously fast and all at once, starters/small plate choices and larger mains. In general all was plated well but most missed the mark on taste, temperature or doneness. Their special brisket though chosen at beginning of lunch service was dry and overdone. Fish ok but chips overcooked and all dry and crunchy, pork ribs tender but tasteless and over cooked. The only dishes we had that passed was the onion rings and the lamb chops. Granted they were busy with bookings but the meals seemed to be function centre quality -pre plated and sent out rather than prepared to order
Seems to have gone downhill We have been to Mandoon a lot over the years and the food and service have been immaculate. However a couple of months ago we went with two friends. I had a pizza which semi poisoned me and the service was average. Not to be put off we were invited to go today with friends and whilst the service was good I ordered the Wagyu burger which was delivered 10 minutes after the other three meals came. The burger was worse than average and at $32 I expected better. One other member of the party had the Beer battered fish and chips and he left over half which he gave to me to try and to say the fish was appalling was an understatement. It might be a long while yet before we go back to what should be a local regular haunt for us.
Tasty lunch, busy restaurant This was part of our River Wine Tour and we docked with a short walk to the winery where we enjoyed lunch (my Mex Salad was delicious, the perfect quantities). Our original table felt likeit was "out back b the bins" with a stark concrete wall, but we asked to move and were put in the main restaurant, vibrant and buzzing, so much better
Waited for Restaurant to open and then told NO TABLE This is my first ever NEGATIVE review on Trip Advisor. We arrived at Mandoon at 10am and was told the kitchen just shut for breakfast and would reopen at 11am. We (four of us) said we would enjoy a coffee and then eat. The restaurant was about 20% full and so we did that and then went to order food at 11:15am only to be told we could now not eat as the table was booked. Unbelievable!!!!! The restaurant was still 20% full if that and thee was no way there was a booking before 12 on that table. The worst communication on the planet and No care whatsoever. We are now at The Guildford enjoying great service and awesome food and guess what, they even know how to communicate. Look at the sign in the table. How easy. Maybe the IDIOTS at Mandoon can use their brains and do this.I suggest going back to The Mandoon on Tuesday when they have burger and beer for $20.
We tasted some wine ????. It costs $10 for 4 tasting’s but we only wanted one for lunch so it was complimentary.
We ordered a glass of Verdelho and Grenache $14 each and ordered the Truffled Capriccosia $26.50 before sitting down in the grass under a tree with a view to the vineyard.
Note: 15% surcharge on public holiday

Bad management Visited Mandoon Winery on Saturday and was thoroughly disappointed, found out the hard way that not all the ingredients in the burger are not listed on the menu. I ordered the Wagu Burger and stated that I needed the burger to be gluten and dairy free due to allergies but I also have an allergy to onions and this ingredient wasn't listed on the menu as being included. When I received the burger it had slices of red onion in it and I had already taken a few bites before realising and I panicked and took it back, Comalida (not sure of the spelling as the staff told me her name) the manager came out and stated that it was my fault and that I need to take responsibility for my allergies and was extremely rude regarding the matter and I was left feeling humiliated, deflated and in tears. When we asked her name she became very agitated and yelled at my Dad and stormed off and I never received an apology and I'm now extremely unwell. We were visiting for my grandparents 50th Wedding Anniversary and I unfortunately had to spend most of the time in the toilet instead of spending time with my family. Mandoon Winery health and safety measures are not up to standard and I'm now paying the price. ALL allergies should be taken seriously regardless of what it is. We received a refund but no remorse was shown and no apology all they did was blame me.The service was great and the food was carefully crafted, well balanced and adventurous. Very cool
The venison tartare was my standout for the day but they said they will have a new menu next week so you don't have long to try it!
Update, returned about a year later and the food is still very good and creative. The menu is fairly similar but it was still fun to experience. We tried the lamb and Wagyu mains these times and I can definitely say they were delicious, both like eating butter with the beef standing out just a tiny bit more for flavour. Great service from the staff too.
Thanks Rachel was amazing Super impressed. Rachel in Cellar Door really knows her stuff. Libby at check in plus all the other amazing staff. This place delivers excellent food, the colony accommodation is stylish and supremely comfortablre. All the staff do an excelkent job. Hannah is excellent in the restaurant. They all make a genuine effort. Would love to come back for longer. Thanks for your hospitality. . Amazing place Will be back. Thanks Rachel
Gorgeous place for a summer dress, a glass of wine and some live music A lovely afternoon listening to live music in the sunshine. Pizzas can be ordered from the garden bar area, and the bar itself is a few steps away, serving a range of spirits, wines and beer. Highly recommended.
